Sony already looked at this game. They hired the creators of SS who made Infantry and Cosmic Rift. Note that those games no longer exist.

Tw is fun with a max. number of players. If there would be 100 000 people playing this, it would be crap, many people get to know each other, in there it wouldn't be possible.

While I appreciate being called a retard, I do not agree that trenchwars is safe from large console companies altogether. The main value in trenchwars is it's players. How easy would it be for Sony (or even Nintendo) to do a wicked 3-D version of all the maps pressed into one game. The multiplayer games are something that a lot of people still haven't managed to be introduced to. This leaves a HUGE window of opportunity for people like Priitk and DocK> to decide who gets the prize. If we're all still playing in 40 years, wouldn't ya rather be playing on a wicked frikkin 3-D model of the game? It doesn't mean the real continuum would have to be abolished. It just means that when we all have our kids, they can play trenchwars in STYLE.

Maybe Priitk and DocK> should be the ones to commercialize trenchwars?

And whatever happened with the Virgin thing? Is Branson totally stupified over trenchwars and the money it could bring him? Or has he forgotten?

It's 2009, there are many cool and good games out there. I have a xbox, I could buy a 360 or PS3 and buy those games but I don't want to.

You would do well to read into the history of Continuum. It is client for what was an orginally commerical game called SubSpace.

Its been over 10 years since VIE died and with it the commercial aspect of the game.

I honestly don't see anyone coming up with the money to "buy out" per say as the legal issues surrounding this game are complex and make it pretty much impossible to do so without the risk of a high amount of costs. The ownership of the Continuum Client is split between at least 2 people to begin with.

Any sensible company would create a new game.
