If you have been to a single day of philosophy class you know that Plato believes that the pursuit of the Truth is synonymous with the pursuit of the Good, and pursuing the Good is what makes man happy.

I happen to think he is full of shit, but Plato says they are synonymous. I am on the truth wagon, fuck happiness.

Every time I open a Telcat thread, I try to read her first post, but I never get past 2 sentences max.

As far as the topic goes, both, I want happiness, but not one based on lies.

If there was something I care a lot, it would be my happiness. I WILL do anything for my happiness. I like to help weak people, but that’s only because I can and that makes me happy. If one day I woke up and discovered I actually enjoyed watching world burn, then I would not hesitate to light the torch.

There is, however one thing, and maybe one thing only that I care more about my own happiness, and that is, the truth. Even though I know this obsession for truth is not rational at all. (Maybe I just like to be tormented).

I will duck down the turbulent ocean of dark water and climb the frozen top of the most dangerous mountain ... if it allows me to find the truth.

But if I could do so in the comfort of an air-cond room and with the aid of a computer and the internet, it will be fabulous :wub:

What is more important to you? Truth, or happiness?

Since I do not believe it's an either-or question, I will go with the fusion of truth and happiness, making true happiness become a reality for not only myself, but for all people. The best truth out there is when all people are able to experience absolute happiness.
