I don't stay up late because I feel it will give me some edge or I am cool. I have always been an evening person, I just can't go to bed early, even when I am tired I don't go to bed before 1 am, I just can't sleep. Most productive part of my day is in the evening, that's when I get everything done.

Maybe it's just because I'm asian, but TEA. Tea has much more beneficial properties and the caffeine!

True, cold energy drinks sometimes sound more appealing than coffee. But those cost lots of money, whereas brewing a cup of coffee only costs a few cents.

I stopped drinking coffee regularly, but I still have a cup of coffee or tea occasionally. When I had caffeine regularly I would feel awful if I didn't have it. Now when I do have some it feels great.
Last week I had to pull some all nighters. Coffee doesn't do much the next day for those. Those 5 hour energy shots do the trick though.

Lol, didn't know you were 27. I keep thinking you're 23 still or something :P

When you drink coffee you:
- probably started to drink it because you thought it would do good for your image;
- probably have a work/life balancing problem;
- will be less likely to get dementia;
- care little about your teeth;
- have a bad breath;
- probably overdoing it just to look cool.
Developer, 27.
I go to bed at around 10pm and wake at 7am every day. I stay up longer on weekends, but I'm not overdoing it.
Now I think the best part of the day is between 8 and 11am, because you can get a lot of work done and it will still feel early.
If I wake up around 10 or 11 I probably won't do anything constructive before 1pm, if any.
By that time I would feel like I had wasted a day and get a weary feeling.
And on the other end I hardly ever found myself doing anything constructive after 10pm, unless it was reading or having sex.
So, my advice is to stop staying up late just because you think it gives you this mysterious or alternative edge. There's nothing mysterious about hanging in front of the TV or surfing the internet at 2am. Not even when your drunk or stoned.Last edited by Zerzera; 11-21-2009, 10:04 AM.

when i was in high school and swimming competitively i slept over 7 hours every night. usually went for 8 or 9.
in college i swam but i didnt care about that anymore. i studied and drank alot and slept maybe 4 to 5 hours a night.
after college i was working and tried to get around 6 hours a night on average through the week
i was unemployed for a while, that got me 8 hours a night for the first time in a long time...
but yeah, im back to between 6 or 7 hours a night again
also, im 25 right now
