the location and the circumstance are irrelevant. the only thing that was remotely relevant about the location was that there's water for the submersible, and that you dont have to bring dozens of pounds of blankets and clothes. there's nothing retarded about 'my utopia'. you're just the kind of person to throw that in for kicks. it's a perfectly serious list of things you wouldn't want to abandon when leaving society. this particular list was land-based. the rocket helicopter backpack (if its so necessary to debate this) might not have enough fuel to travel from costa rica or a polynesian island to civilization.
