If you say production of greenhouse gas emissions, carbon dioxide whatever is causing global warming, then you also have to accept that all of this climate control legislation is not going to do a goddamn thing on the global scale. China and India are cranking that stuff out like its going out of style regardless of what we do. Pollution controls are fine and well to make sure that we have clean air to breathe and water to drink but as far as climate control is concerned it's basically just knocking off 15-20% of our GDP. This is precisely why we didn't sign the Kyoto Treaty (China and India got exemptions) and now we're about to do it on our own anyways.
PS. You may disagree with Dr. Paul, but I don't really think you can laugh at him.USA WORLD CHAMPS

What I don't understand is why people have such vehement issues with it. Even if you don't believe in global climate change, it's still okay to keep belching exorbitant amounts of pollutants into the air that you breathe? In a time when we're all worried about the cost of health care, why would you complicate it further by allowing poisons for the sake of "progress?" We're smarter than that (as a whole).

I don't mind making our air and water cleaner, but I want it to be because want cleaner air and water, not because some guy made up global warming.
Things like this are the reason why this "stop global warming bullshit" is so bad.

Yes, to save energy lets all use potentially dangerous light bulbs that contain dangerous levels of mercury. That should save the earth.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home
------
A leading power company has claimed wind energy is so unreliable that even if 13,000 turbines are built to meet EU renewable energy targets, they could be relied on to provide only 7 per cent of the country’s peak winter electricity demand.
E.On has argued that, during the coldest days of winter, so little wind blows that 92 per cent of installed wind capacity would have to be backed up by traditional power stations.
It argues this would require new coal-fired power stations to be built so they could be used in an emergency when little wind blows.
This, E.On suggests, will mean that, to meet renewable targets of 20 per cent of energy being provided from renewables by 2020, the UK’s installed power base will need to rise from 76 gigawatts today to more than 100GW.
The company estimates this could cost £100 billion.

Unfortunately some of the things that they want us to do to help stop global warming actually make things much worse. And costs us much more when we can't afford it.Rabble Rabble Rabble

LOL so you remember that I don't give a fuck about the environment, I didn't think that some old forum scavenger like you read as many threads as you did. You are right, I purposefully keep the AC in my home at 65 degrees even when I am not home because I want my dog to be comfortable also, I purposefully order more food than I would ever be able to eat, and when I am done with it I throw it away, I have never donated to a charity, my truck spews out more exhaust than any 20 eurotrash cars and it looks and sounds amazing while doing so. I ball up entire notebooks of paper and purposefully throw them away in the trash can instead of the recycling bin, sometimes I even empty out the recycling bin into the trashcan so that nothing gets recycled because in general the save the earth types are more likely to be faggots anyways. Sometimes I use twice as much coal as I need when I BBQ because I want that extra charcoal flavor in my chicken and ribs that I make too much of. And guess what, I can do this because I am an American, and just because some little pussy named Concreteschoolyard on the forums wants to come to the forums and write an essay about how bad I live my life about it doesn't change the fact that I don' really give a flying fuck. God Bless America. Amen.Rabble Rabble Rabble

You think I am trolling? I drive a F-150 quad cab XLT, my AC never goes above 65 degrees, even in the winter, even if I have to use a blanket instead of just turning the AC up. I have literally never recycled in my entire life nor do I plan on it. I mean what I say.Rabble Rabble Rabble
