Dude seriously. I'm reading Gravity's Rainbow as well, and seriously I get through maybe 20-30 pages of reading before just getting tired about thinking about what's happening. Then I just go to bed.

I plan on reading Blink by Malcom Gladwell.

my writing and lit professor from my freshman year of college was a pynchon nut. he made the challenge to all of his students whereby if any of us could make it through gravity's rainbow and then carry out, to his satisfaction, at least a moderately coherent discussion of the book with him, he'd buy the student dinner and give up his first edition of the novel.

i was 19 years old at the time, and here i sit, 25 now, still planning on eventually rising to that challenge.

just finished up pygmy. really interesting style. i dug it.

                      Blink is good.

You pussy, I've read Gravity's Rainbow 3 times now, twice in less than a month. Both those times it was for a class, Best novel ever written. Pynchon has more to say about the modern complex or common life than any other author I've found.

I really enjoyed the Brothers Karamazov, and Russian novels in general the past 5 years or so.

                              Steal This Book - Hoffman
I pull out my original copy of this book every now and then, reminding myself about the day I stuffed it into my Army jacket (one that was covered with peace symbols) and walked out of the book store without paying for it... ah, the 'good ol' days'.
BTW, in 1970 no one would publish this book so Hoffman had to raise $$$ to establish Pirate Editions. But once printed, no distributors would carry it. (Yes Tone, this was a massive government conspiracy.) But when Hoffman died, he made sure everyone could read it. You can read it online for free at http://www.tenant.net/Community/steal/steal.html
