That's different, you aren't technically in grad school though. You are talking grad courses. You made it sound like you are currently in grad school, w/o a bachelors degree.Originally posted by Galleleo View PostHow it is possible is that I have finished my bachelor except one course, so my uni allows me to start on my master while I at the same time I am finishing that course.
I've heard of taking graduate courses as an undergraduate, but never being formally accepted to a graduate program with a degree.

I'm technically pursuing both at the same time. My school has a program where you roll your senior-level BS classes and graduate classes together, culminating in a BS and MS degree being awarded at completion. So long as you take everything before you get your degrees, it doesn't matter what order you do them in. The real determining factor for me is how long it takes me to complete my thesis.

explain how this is possible. It's required to have your bachelors before getting a Masters at any university. Think about it, getting your masters means you are specializing, but if you have no foundation with the basics..how can you even specialize.Originally posted by Galleleo View PostI am currently doing my Masters without having finished my bachelors.

You're pursuing a bachelors not a masters and you have previous accreditation. Sounds good.

Guest repliedFor clarifications sake, I need to get my B.S. first, then follow up with a masters, as it is required to teach in the state that I intend to reside.
I had 28 credits transfer from my military service, and I am going to stack up 18-20 credits per semester at my current rate. With 3-4 credits extra for both a summer and winter course it would be about 50 credits per year (Give or take a couple)...With the credits I already have, I should be able to obtain my bachelors in 2 years, (120 credit hours) assuming I don't burn out first.
Content now? Because your comfort is important to me

I don't get it, you don't say you're going to school to get a Masters when you haven't even finished your bachelors. When the topic comes up about what you plan on doing in University, you usually say I'm currently doing this, and then I'd like to do that. People ask me and I say, I'm doing a double major in English and Politics and then when I'm done I will apply to teachers college or go back and get a masters in education.Originally posted by Fit of Rage View PostSomething doesn't add up here:
Master's in Education? BS in 2 years?
He might have some accreditation from a previous institution, but it doesn't sound like since he's trying to cram four years into two. I wouldn't suggest that to be honest. Even with transfer credits and me willing to pick up extra credits during the summer it's still going to take me just over 2.5-3 years.
edit: It could also depend on this institution, less reputable Universities offer College students better transfer options. For Example, I have a 2 year Diploma and would have been able to get my bachelors in B.C for 1 year full time or 2 years part-time online. I also had the opportunity to go to Sydney and get a Bachelors in communication in 1.5 years. Once again, this requires some sort of accreditation...

Something doesn't add up here:Originally posted by Lizard Fuel View PostI go to UCONN, pursuing my masters in Education with a focus on Geography and American History, granted this current semester is my first one, but Im taking 6 classes per semester, including extra winter and summer courses. Going try to knock out my B.S. in 2 years. My biggest obstacle is that I have too much time on my hands, as chapter 31 of the new GI bill pays me a decent amount of money just for attending classes, more than enough to live on.
