No worries my friend. Was just a curiosity question and when I had seen it spelled one way and I am accustomed to seeing spelled another way, well...what better place to ask but the forum?

Was not a negative post in the least or a judemental call either.

Too many brian <-- (EDIT: hahaha "Brain") cells are lost in my head after the past week of MLB action. Thank god there is a break this evening...possibly tomorrow too if the rain falls through the night. BTW...Go Yankee's!!!! I want an I-95 series.

although i'm of the opinion an education can be found outside the realm of academia, i must admit, the 'd' in degree has become increasingly relevant to the 'd' in dollar

if you wanna make cents you have to have some sense or at least a piece of paper that says you do

but that's a debate for another thread
It took me 6.5 years to complete a 4 year degree so I'm in no position to make others look bad. On top of that, I'm the only Senior Financial Analyst in my company without either an accounting designation or MBA and some of those other analysts are 3-4 years younger than me.

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to become a Manager of even a Team Lead without an accounting designation or an MBA so I don't really have a choice

Wilfrid Laurier University is just the 1 block (refer to map view!). In contrast, due west of it is the University of Waterloo. It is very much bigger.

To walk across campus takes probably less than 5 minutes

Our English program here blows. It is crap. Good thing it is my second degree. MRC for the win!

i suppose i shouldn't be so hard on myself.

i dropped out as a result of a nervous breakdown. just outright ran into a wall, albeit an emotional one. it wasn't that i couldn't hack it academically, and as a matter of fact, i've been itching to get back on the horse for years now.

i would absolutely looooove to have a degree in creative writing. in fact, i don't even care about the degree. i'd love to just sit in creative writing classes for the rest of my life.

in order to pay the bills though, i'm looking at some sort of graphic/web design combo. with all the credits i racked up during my stint as a comp sci major, i'm probably only looking at a year to a year and a half tops for a bachelor's.

I too enjoy creative writing immensely, but when I started looking at possible career options doing English seemed a bit safer. I've had the opportunity to write in my local paper, as well as a lifestyle magazine that has a circulation of a few million people per month. It's interesting and enjoyable, but the kind of writing I did in creative writing had noting to do with either of my jobs. I'm going to keep taking the classes cause I enjoy them, but I don't really want to end up with a degree in it.

You should definitely look at going back, you're a smart dude Jason. Put in the time and get it done, but don't stress about having to do it right away.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

It was anxiety and depression for me. My school was very accommodating and I wrote a lot of deferred exams over my final 2-3 years. For a long time I didn't think I'd ever graduate, but I took fewer courses each term and just stuck it out. It is just a piece of paper, but finally graduating was a huge self esteem boost.

I'd definitely suggest you go back and get some kind of degree, if only to ensure all those credits you got don't go to waste.

I've studied civil engineering, dropped out after realizing I'm absolutely incompetent when it comes to mathematics...

I'm currently in the last stages of a B.A in psychology and in the first stages of my L.L.B.

I'd state the university but I guess it wouldn't matter much, due to it being located in Israel..

                                Have a nice week people.
