The school is paid the money regardless of whether I've shown or not. You can in theory say that professors are paid when my professor is lecturing another class. You can even say they are getting paid during office hours. They have a fixed yearly salary. It's retarded to even begin that $x dollars a day bullshit.

The true measure of whether my tuition expediture is efficient or not, is by analyzing my exam scores. If I get 100% on the section that my lecturer spoke about on the day I wasn't there, I have in theory made up any potential money lost by not going that day.

Contracts usually have requirements for both parties to fulfill. At my University teachers are required to teach a certain # of credits per year and hold a minimum of certain office hours. You need to add clarity to your argument or you need to simplify it to "Professors are not on salary." <- That's making words effective. I just turned one of your paragraphs into 1 sentence. Once you do that, you can add more ideas to a paragraph.

I've come to the conclusion, especially since I'm paying for my own graduate degree, that the result of your education is exactly proportional to the amount of work you put in. This includes going to class. Regardless of whether or not you think you could get the same material from reading a book, if you miss class you're rolling the dice on whether the professor does something completely random that day that will be included on an exam.

I'm not telling you that you can't skip a class--I skipped my engineering math class today. But I didn't just skip it for shits and giggles, I had lab reports that needed grading before tomorrow. Just be aware that this is college and nobody is going to cut you any slack. You're completely responsible for any and all actions you take. You've probably heard that from your parents or whoever before, but the reason is that it's true. Take it to heart.

I wasn't feeling lazy at all. It's a fuckin afternoon class, and I really had nothing better to do than stay for lecture. BUT, I knew the material he was going to lecture about very well. So, I decided not to show up. It is your ass who makes this shit a big deal. You assume I am inflating my decision making just because I didn't use simple words.

I hope to god you have no intentions of studying economics or any kind of field involving higher level thinking with that kind of logic. Haha you really think by simply adding more elaborate details to an idea that it is right?

Your idea that i somehow lose money is flawed. Like I said in the post above, I knew the material very well before hand. Now pay attention, here's where it gets tricky. It doesn't matter how well the professor knows the material, it's the way in which he can convey it. In no way can he convey the material to any student as well as he himself knows it. So, IF your argument is based on the extensive knowledge of the professor, then you fail for the reason just mentioned.

However, if you try to argue the true value lies in the material itself, and take the professor as a mouthpiece of it, then you close the door on the quality of the conveyor. Most will argue information is more easily conveyed BY a real person, which is valid. However, in my case, I did not choose the conventional route, and took the arguably more difficult route of studying the textbook as well as reliance on previously learned information. The disparity here is apparent. A pro-professor stance would lead one to believe that maybe I missed a few things, we are human after all.

But, I was careful, I spent roughly 2x the lecture time studying, as well as supplementing it with a thorough discussion. Nevertheless, one could persist with this pro-prof stance, with an argument saying "it is an intangible, you can never truly verify the disparities in the styles of learning." I would respond with "kinda", for one reason: there is a check. There is a check to both sides, one that would search for any clear differences-a examination.

In that examination, the professor would do a complete check of his conveying skills, but less of the books. He himself is a mouthpiece of the book, but thinks of himself as more of an independent source. Now, when the section where i skipped lecture rolls around, the check would be evident. I hope you can get that part.

Let's say I do well, scratch that, WHEN I do well, (by well I mean 100% on the information that was taught the lecture I skipped), FULL marks would clear ANY notions of money lost or Potential money or whatever stupid ass terms you are creating.
