You don't have the right to comment about other people's lifestyles and gauge how sustainable their expenditures are until you do some self-reflecting. Spouting overgeneralizing comments about a nation's consumption levels doesn't really help us move forward, assuming that you believe that everyone regardless of creed and culture need to consume less.

Don't get me wrong, I support ideas of being environmentally responsible and I always welcome new ideas about sustainable living. I just don't think lashing out on people because of these generalizations is the right way to go.

Norway is doing great investing a lot of capital into the green economy, and I believe Canada has a lot to learn from them.

The fact still stands though, overconsumption is one of the biggest problems today as a whole, not narrowing down to individual targets. It is something people has to be reminded on, and aware of. You would be amazed how much damage a single cellphone does from the process of mining the metals until it illegally ends its life in some small city in the third world, getting burned over open fire polluting the waters and killing people, just to salvage some minor piece of metal and sell it to a junkyard.

And windmills are a horrible technology, the prerequisite for having an effective windmill park is ridiculous, it's a dead technology. The future lies in solar energy and waves.

But I do agree with your point, in theory. The difference is, I don't drive a car or eat fast food (rarely now) or waste money on jeans. I turn off my lights when I leave home and unplug cell phone chargers. I even recycle, so get off your high horse, dickface.
