    "AMEN! Thanks for posting this. As a US Army veteran I thought that "The Hurt Locker" was pure fantasy and marvel at how such a crap movie would garner so many acclaims?! People like the main character in that film wouldn't last a day in the real world army where that cowboy gung-ho hardcharging life jeopardizing bullsh*t wouldn't win any accolades but a summary court martial............. "
    They have it wrong though (at least in what I took away from the movie), I don't think the movie is trying to say: All Bomb Tech's are wild cannons running around in their suits being insane.I mean the movie starts out with a bomb tech doing it by the book (or at least it appears that way, the robot doing most of the work until the cart fails) and it shows what can go wrong if you don't do it by the book. It's just this one guy that is a loose cannon and does it his way. I mean it ties in with the ending where he voluntarily goes back for another year because it's the only thing that keeps him going. The movie isn't saying "OMGZ GUIZZZZ ALL OED TECHS ARE INSANE SUICIDERS!!!!!!1111oneone"
    Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

          they have been completely raping Hurt Locker on public radio here. Ephemeral is right, this isn't even close to what happens. They do use robots.

          The only good case for this movie is the 'sense of danger' .

            It's sort of a moot point. Movies are horribly inaccurate for any real life thing... the only vaguely accurate movies that exist are probably those about Hollywood or about writers.

              Best Actor/ Actrice

              So who do you think is the best actor/actrice out there?

              Mine:

              Male white actor

              * Comedy

              Jim Carrey: I love the dude, his expressions are pure gold, I loved him in Bruce Almighty
              Robin Williams: You gotta admire the dude for everything he has done, specially his role in Patch Adams.

              * Action

              Mel Gibson: I think he is a very skilled actor, he was brilliant in Braveheart and the Patriot
              Johnny Depp: Has played some very good roles lately in the movies, really impressed me.
              Al Pacino: He was great in the godfather triology.

              * Overal

              Tom Hanks: Very skilled, and overal great. I liked him in the Green Mile, and I also liked his role in saving private ryan.

              Male Black Actor

              * Comedy

              Martin Lawrence: He cracks me up, he's a great actor best in comedy's.
              Eddy Murphy: You can't talk about black actor's in comedy and not talk about Eddy Murphy, this guy really earned his stripes, he is great.
              Honourable mention: Chris Rock, this guys is hilarious, and he will probably be in my list in the near future, but at this moment he needs a bit more experience.

              * Action

              Samuel L. Jackson: One of the best in my opinion, I just like his style, he can be really convincing in any role. Tho comedy isnt really his style.
              Morgan Freeman: Also a great actor, has been around for a long time, if I am correct he first starred in a movie back in '66.

              * Overal

              Will Smith: Just one name springs to mind when i think about an overal black actor: Will Smith, he is great in comedy's i.e. The prince of Bel Air, but he is also great in action/thriller movies, Bad Boys.

              [B]Overal Male Actor[B]
              Robin Williams: Has always been one of my favourite actor's, I just love him
              Tom Hanks/ Samuel L. Jackson: I like them both equally much, their past movies speak for themselves.

              I will post my female one soon, I am just out of time for now

              Disclaimer: These are only my views, I might have forgotten some I also really like but just slipped my mind, I know I left out Asian/other actor's in this post, was my choise, not meant to be racist or whatever, you can add them if you like. I also did mainstream and actors of this moment, I don't know enough about the older actor's to really judge over them.

                Chris Rock is a bad comedian. He constantly uses the race card for cheap laughs.. It's demeaning to his ethnic bethren, and patronising for non-racist white people.

                Best Actors: Anthony Hopkins, Robert De Niro, Dennis Hopper.

                Most Underestimated Actors: Tom Cruise, Robert Downey jnr, Matt Dillon
                Edit: Casey Affleck he is good too.

                Sexiest Actress:

                      Agreed. My opinion is that that the vast majority of movies/documentaries exist as profit centers. I hate sitting in a movie that makes me feel like I am being manipulated by someone for a buck. This is one of the reasons I did not like Avatar, for me too many scenes felt like they were in the movie to simply showcase the 3D effect as opposed to support the story.

                          I know someone who was also upset about the factual inaccuracies of the film Up as well. He was ranting on about how the wrong types of balloons were used. He then started to talk about how the dogs were unfairly portrayed but was distracted by a squirrel and lost his train of thought.

                            It baffels me how something as terrible as The Hurt Locker can win anything at the oscars...

                            Serisouly, it was so painfully horrendous that I couldn't even finish watching it, after the "sniper battle, john wayne bullshit hooey", my brain couldn't take it anymore and I threw the Blu-Ray in the microwave so no one at the local dvd rental place would ever have to be subjected to such terrible tripe again.

                            Gets my nod for Worst Movie of 2009.
