the hurt locker was such a silly stupid offensive movie (because it seemed to take itself really seriously).

no one should give a shit about the oscars tho.. kinda funny how sandra bullock had the "best" + "worst" performance as an actress this year tho.. meh

ps. tho jeff bridges is awesome ofc

I wasn't there, but most of the things Ive read from the people who do this horrific job say it's nothing close to reality. Not a great source, but this is typical of what many who were there say...

"AMEN! Thanks for posting this. As a US Army veteran I thought that "The Hurt Locker" was pure fantasy and marvel at how such a crap movie would garner so many acclaims?! People like the main character in that film wouldn't last a day in the real world army where that cowboy gung-ho hardcharging life jeopardizing bullsh*t wouldn't win any accolades but a summary court martial............. This is not true.

Yes they use robots and supplemental bursts on most occasions possible, but those soldiers still put on the suit to disarm some of the explosives. And as Gall said, the story is based on the real "wild man" who claimed to have disarmed over 500 himself, while inside the suit.

If Christopher Waltz wouldn't have won the award for best supporting actor I would have turned the Oscars off straight away.

happy to see christopher waltz and jeff bridges on the list of winners (although both were pretty much gimmes). i didn't really think any movie this year was worthy of getting best picture, it was a pretty boring year for film.

man i fuckin hate sandra bullock though
