I often think to myself that it's better that L1T2R3 and TagMor keep posting on the forums because at least their posts add something to the discussion, whether it's something inane or something I completely disagree with because at least I have a reaction to it. What the fuck did you just write? There is nothing there that I can even start to reply to aside from "tits or gtfo". However, I am now going to attempt to write a serious response to a telcat thread.

The departed

The departed … I used to laugh at the term people use to describe the ex-colleagues who are no longer with the company, thinking ‘those people are NOT dead’, they simply stopped working for your company.

Now to think about the term, it is not a bad metaphor.

People who get fired/retrenched or otherwise dismissed on the spot, it is like accidents strike the hazard pro people.

In the situation of voluntary resignation because you were not happy there, it is like a terminal disease coming to an end. You are half-heartedly expecting to be reborn into your next work place.

For those who resigned because you have found a better job, it is like you have enlightened yourself enough to reach Zen. You are off to another world to hang out with ‘better’ souls. Most likely to only find out ‘the others’ over there aren’t much better.

I am on a 2 weeks holiday, current quitting coffee and staying away from alcohol … not addicted to any games at the moment. Just got myself into a half million mortgage, so no $ to go anywhere.

Leaving me plenty of time to randomly tap on the keyboard :fear: Thought it would make things more interesting to start a open ended topic ...
