I claim no responsibility for DangerGirl. DoCk> didn't get involved in the forums but at the same time decided that it was something that needed 'looking after'. Therefore he mostly left me to it and every now and then thought he would do 'something' because it was ultimately his reponsibility and he needed to do something. One of those things was to promote DangerGirl (unannounced - I have to find out via watching staff chat and pretending I know what's happening). She was very keen and enthusiastic but got hugely frustrated with me because:

a) She was running around trying to fix things that aren't broke and ignoring the issues which were broke. At the time the key issues on the forums were drawing the line on racism/homophobia. She was very emotional and charged in with her ideas on how to fix the problem despite not know the forum or how it worked. This mostly resulted in her ideas being shite without her realising.

b) She wanted to upgrade the forums technologically, and got frustrated with my lack of technological knowledge or indeed my lack of knowledge on how to run the back-end of the forums. To this day I still have no idea what all the buttons do on the admin interface but I believe I was hired because of the time I was prepared to put into the forums and my understanding of how the forums work on a social level. If ever something complicated needed doing (very rare) Pure Luck would step in (unannounced). I'm sure her ideas were fantastic but they didn't need doing, the forums work(ed) because of their simplicity.

This has turned into a little bit of a rant, and I didn't intend for it to be, but if I'm to conclude I was a little pissed off that I was just the guy who ran the forums and if upper staff wanted to change sometihng they just did and let me gradually discover it when I logged on. If I'm the best guy to run the forums I should at least be consulted or involved in the decision making at some level.

Anyway, DangerGirl fucked off after about 6 months.
