No, it's not ok that he cheated. Chinese culture is about taking care of your family - monetarily. It's a business arrangement, at least for people who are wealthy and successful. The wife knows that her husband has mistresses but just doesn't ask and ignores it.

Because he was being honest and doesn't want to lie to me because he thinks I have the right to know what happened. He hid it from his ex-wife and it led to the demise of their relationship. He thinks it's perfectly ok to cheat and it's no dirt off his shoulders because as long as it's meaningless it doesn't matter.
