Actually my point is I like to make fun of people who too much pride in an arbritrary thing (let's not deny that there are, proportianally, a lot of inhabitants of america who think it is the end-all country everybody wants to live in) and besides, its an easy target really and theres a few people on this forum that tend to react to it

Inherent difference is that im not claiming my country, whichever it is, is better.

But thats all besides the point cause I made these posts months ago. Lets talk about the Ron Paul thing, cause I am in fact curious on how americans on this forum feel about that video.

I don't get the "arab governments being overthrown by islamic fundamentalists." This just goes to show you no one could have predicted what the arabs did over there. I think Paul came as close as the Muslim Brotherhood, and thats only in egypt.

His Palestinian-Israeli views were pretty on point. Seemed like there was an atmosphere of "what next" around that time, a lot of uncertainty over whether or not to invade Iraq. Paul seemed to take the usual libertarian worst-case scenario route of "N Den da govment gonna get reel reel big n spend lots to fix its mistake". We were strongly considering entering a war, of course we were going to beef up spending (especially on national "defense").

But, pretty insightful/lucky? to know that we would be there a long time and spending wouldn't be curbed so as to turn our eye back to gold.

A lot of luck was needed on his behalf. Had Kerry been elected, we would have probably pulled out of Iraq. There's a few trillions saved there. Although the mortgage bubble was unavoidable. It probably wouldn't have been a Great Recession. More money to inject into the economy if anything goes wrong.

I like the guy. Him being called an isolationist shouldn't be an insult. I couldn't vote for him though, I mean the guy wants to essentially dissolve all cabinet positions. Too much "fend for yourself" and "Leaf Wall-Street alone" that is a staple of the conservative viewpoint. I'll take his foreign policy over all candidates in the field hands down.

I will be voting for Ron Paul, as much as it saddens me that many Americans would rather vote for a tard like Santorum on the sole basis that he's running on a social conservative platform and would really make a terrible commander-in-chief.
