Anyone good with excel?

Im on a bowling league on Mondays and I need to create a sort of "league roster" for a project I am working on. My microsoft office trial for my new laptop expired and theres zero chance I'm spending 150 bucks to buy a copy. I can't imagine this project is going to take any longer than 20-30 minutes start to finish, and I'll even throw a few dollars your way for your time.

If anybody is willing to help me out respond here or throw me a forum PM and I'll give you the details. Thanks.

edit: I already have a copy of the exact format I need, but its several years old. I would just need it updated to reflect current player/team names (16 teams names + 80 player names)

edit2: Is there any way I can get it from my email onto my kindle fire after its complete? Having it available on my Kindle would be beyond ideal

I had a class where I learned Microsoft office but I definitely don't remember any of it haha

But google docs is the shit. You can make a file public (to be read-only or editable) as well for easy sharing

You could probably make do with google docs + some quick googling about spreadsheets

I'll check out this google docs, but in regards to this proficiency test... these programs didn't exist yet when I was in High School lol. I didn't even take my first typing class until Sophomore year and I went to a ritzy school

Make it in csv (comma separated value) format. You can do it in notepad or notepad++, both free. Then convert it into excel format will take a minute max if there is nothing wrong with your data.

If you make it in csv format, I can convert it for you, free of charge.

yeah thats what i'd do, you should be able to import your old excel file and edit in that and it's always free no bs with hacks or trials.

one thing though most of the developers of open office quit and left it after oracle bought it up and dicked about. It's still in development but i think thats more a pr bullshit that it being actively developed

so i'd upgrade to that if your still on openoffice, it's the same but being more actively developed (pretty much all new linux distrubutions ship with libreoffice over open office now and it's the same filetypes / support etc...)

if you get libre office it's CALC that is the spreadsheet like excel

p.s. dunno anything abuot a kindle other than i think my mum might have recently got one. i can put that kinda stuff on my android phone though but it's screen would be alot smaller than the kindle

I managed to get it done in google docs, I also downloaded openoffice, its pretty neat but I have to play around with it a lot more to learn my way around. All this talk about comma seperated values and everything else, you might as well be speaking fr*nch, meaning I have no desire to be associated with it. If you need to learn how to shoot, move, and communicate tactfully in an urban environment then I'm your man, but I leave all the technical jargon to the nerds. Thanks to those who offered help and special shoutout to stark who even went so far as to send a forum pm offering his assistance.

I havent used google docs much because I found it annoying it can take like 5 seconds before something you typed/edited actually shows up...at least for me..

I have a ASUS eeePC and it works fine so whatever your computer is doing is wrong.
