i just started a new job at a vet office today. i love it.

we have four in-house cats named:

optimus - named after optimus prime, was in a terrible accident whereby he was hiding in a car engine block and the car was started and the fan belt royally fucked him up
jack - full name is one-eyed jack, named after the pirate, and yes he only has one eye
phyllis - only girl, she's kind of a bitch, go figure
murray - sleeps alllllll the time

There are days when I really love my job and others when I want to destroy people. Dealing with the public alllllll day long gets a little old sometimes is all. BUT, most of the time its interesting, have met many random bands and a couple actors and one comedian at least over the years. People you wouldn't expect to see in a shit small town in Colorado, but there they were.

My job pays ok and my days are short, I go to the office at 7am and I'm almost always home by noon if not earlier. Only human interaction during the day is at the parking lot if someone happens to be there at the same time with me. Other than that I work in my own office and only deal with other people through emails. I hate it. I have way too much free time and I don't know how to deal with it. Usually after work I go out and stare at trees for a few hours after which I go back home, lie on the bed and stare at the ceiling until it's time to go to sleep again. I've been thinking of getting a job that has more of that whole "work" thing in it, but I'm scared I might not like it and then I wouldn't find a "decent" job like the one I have now again.

Why's life so hard, as I'm typing this post it's 9:55am and after hitting the "Post Quick Reply" button I'm going to turn off this computer and drive home. Only to do nothing for a day again.

@ilyas it's not hard to change ur profession if your a tax manager/accountant you have the business sense to work in almost any field of business, you might have to start at the bottom or do some extra skill commiting (CFA, MBA, whatever). Have you thought of talking to your HR department? If you work for a larger firm there are always openings in different areas, HR people are great.

My 1 goal after I grauduate at the end of next year is to find a job where I want to work more hours then required, i.e. stripper management.

Let's be honest, this is what the ideal human would do and none of us are perfect. I think everyone says "man if I had time I would do Blank and blank ... man my time would be put to full use!!"

But I think if you aren't trying to find time to do it when you're busy then when tons of time opens up, you probably will just end up relaxing with some mind-effortless event.

It's like people who are in full time school and say they want to work out, but they say "I have no time to workout, I have school and assignments and blah and blah"

But then you have the guy who really wants to workout, so he makes time in his school life and goes to the gym.

When person 1 gets some free time, I don't really see him going to workout and if so it will be a lackadaisical pussy workout.
