"I got to get mine, no different from everybody trying to get theirs." - Aceyalone

      OR

You're right pv... this whole economic downturn? All my doing. Surely, it's not the incumbent republican government giving mammoth tax breaks to the already-filthy rich. I mean, their $12M yachts need gas too, right? How else are they supposed to get to their summer homes on Martha's Vineyard? Public ferries? Surely you must be joking.

After all, we all know that it was Clinton, and all his philandering, that fucked up the US dollar. Current research shows that improper use of a cigar can really boost the yen.

As far as perpetuating my own career, hell yes. You think capitol hill gives three flying shits about me and my well-being? I guarantee you they don't.

In closing, politicians in general (although republicans moreso) only care about lining their own pocket. How do you think we end up with ridiculous laws (DMCA, etc), errant patents (have you seen some of these? Patenting the use of a laser pointer to excercise cats? Are you fucking serious?), and a widening economic gap? It's because no politician really represents Joe Sixpack anymore.

The republican credo: If you've got money, you can make laws which will, in turn, make you more money. If you don't have enough money to buy yourself a law, then you're lumped in with 99.9% of the rest of the population, and your opinion means nothing--have fun being poor.

I voted Green party last election. Until we get away from the two major parties, nothing of any substance is going to get done.

Pv would rather live in a country that brands you as an expatriate for thinking that the "Fox News" version of things is a bit skewed.

Are you saying tax breaks lead to economic downturns? Tax breaks for filthy rich is excessive and unnecessary but they lead to a recession? I don't think a president has as much control over the economy as we give credit for.

But who will represent Joe Sixpack? Who?!

I agree that I don't think that the tax break caused the problem--that would be a hard statement to put any weight behind. However, it's not helping. And it's certainly not going to help as much as Pheerless Leader tries to convince everyone that it will.

So far, I haven't seen one thing about this presidency that makes the US a better place to live. All I see is breaks for the rich, a tighter stranglehold on free speech and movement, corporations allowed to bully students, out-of-control jingoism, and a criminal law system that lets large-scale criminals go free while ratcheting up penalties for small offenders.

Hah. That's the first time I've seen the word jingoism used in a sentence.

I'd like to thank all the little people (everyone that reads this, doesn't include me) and Carmen "Fucking" Sandiego for this accomplishment. Big up Conc for the political activism. Big up RogMex for the amusing post that took him roughly 90 minutes to create.

But most importantly - big ups to dock>.

OMFG i had a gizillion word long reply for conc and stuf but i freaking pressed esc and erased it all.

basically what i had because i don't wanna re-write it

republicans and democrats are pretty much equally greedy, greed doesnt know party lines.

Yes, the RIAA is horrible for trying to keep people from illegally copying their music that they make money from. But they do own the rights to it like it or not. THey may not be doing it in the best way to keep people happy, but until they pull their heads out of their asses, they are still just trying to protect their business.

Economics do not rely on the president, but are dealt with mainly from the Reserve. The same guy that was in charge of it for Clinton was rehired by Bush. Greenspan has done a good job and it look slike the economy is turning around.

The democratic credo: you are too stupid to fix this yourself. just sit over there and vote when i tell you to and we will give you free stuff so tha you don't have to work and punish those that have worked the hardest to make the most.

DISAGREE WITH FOX NEWS AND YOU SHOULD BE HANGED AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILDREN!

more protection from "haters" of america= tighter control in movemnt and more scrutiny of speech

law system? i didnt know bush built the law system we use now. huh, i guess every president builds his own law system?

best foriegn policy president? nope. jingiosm, sure.

someone said something about outragous patents--patents can be submitted by anyone with the money to pay the fee. AS long as it is fundamentally different than any other patent it can issued. Perpetual machines are an impossiblity, yet several are pantented. This has nothing to do with anything political.

lastly, conc uses an 8ball to decide whether to ask out girls are not.
To all the virgins, Thanks for nothing

i remember playing a game where you're a fish and you're traveling along the ocean and it'd say something like there's a shark coming and you'd choose to stay in shallow or deep water but sharks are sometimes shallow water fishes so if you were smart enough you'd pick deep water but sometimes there are some idiots who pick shallow water and get eaten by the shark and then it would say game over, insert another token biatch!

That's not how it was but it was a game with fishes and that's all i know. fuck you. (added for spite)
