internet has been such a huge factor and people growing up with it can vote now and/or are mature/knowledgeable enough and call bullshit when they see it.

That's one of my hypotheses. Another one is that people are just getting so fed up and with the help of the internet even older people can be persuaded. The robot wins again.

Obama was very good at making speeches. I own 2 of his books that I bought around that time in '08. It was a while ago but holy shit he had me hooked. And he wasn't even nearly as good as Hitler in my opinion(based on an abundance of videos of speeches made by Hitler (edit: for clarification: i am now talking about being a good orator strictly) and also not being an idiot and understanding the Versailles pact after WW1). Bottomline is; Obama knew what to say and when to say it.

i fucking hate words like these. I can't keep up. if someone tells me they are neo-whatever, i automatically assume they are either talking about anime or Hitler. The next 10 seconds are pretty interesting.

On the other hand it is hard to describe what best suits you.

This is because everyone is a pussy.

i think obama winning really took alot of wind out of the sails of the progressive movement that had been building against bush's post-9/11 conservative machine. everyone sort of told themselves that electing a black president meant Everything Is Going To Be Good Now, especially cuz he spouted all that bullshit about closing gitmo, pulling out of the mideast, etc etc etc

I actually read something very similar to this in that Milo yiannopolos book, imagine that?

i have never understood the system you use in the usa and why it can continue. people should have been in the streets decades ago.

I am glad for you guys and thanks for the info.

it should have been Sanders vs. Trump in the TWLD finals
here's a piece on how DSA gained a pretty decent foothold in local elections this month

thats what DSA is, bernie isn't really affiliated with DSA but obviously there's alot of shared values so people tend to associate the two

DSA is basically the last surviving remnants of radical groups from the '60s, SDS and SNCC and groups like that, as they shrank under the dominant conservative wave of the 80's they downsized and merged and downsized and the last groups formed DSA in like the mid 80's

they takes a "By any means necessary" approach to elections which means yes, if it's beneficial to do so, DSA candidates will run as Democrats - though they are always funded via grassroots DSA campaigns and not the actual DNCC. Of course if possible they will run as "independent" or even open democratic socialists.

The big debate within DSA right now, the thing being discussed by the national committee, is whether or not to "hijack" the DNC the way the tea party hijacked the GOP, or to strike out and form a new party because the DNC is trash and will never not be trash. edit: the DNC recently purged its leadership of people considered even remotely "progressive" so the idea that the DNC is a leftist political party is pretty hilarious
