I think this thread is a collection of common misconceptions people seem to have about Subspace, Continuum and Trench Wars.

On the one side, Fudle, Priitk did not make Subspace, he made a client for it, and the thor's hammer was already in the game. He did not add it himself.

Also: with all the different zones out there, each with its own rules and settings, as well as subarenas and mini-games, isn't it possible that some sort of homing weapon would be an interesting idea? A lot of the replies here come from a TW perspective. In this primarily one-hit zone, a homing device is not a very good idea. In other zones however, it might be more feasible. Don't forget that Fudle is asking for a new Continuum weapon, not a TW one. People seem to have the fallacy of thinking that Subspace and Trench Wars are the same thing. (If not openly, then at some level, many people hold that belief.)

None of this however explains the amount of undue criticism directed at Fudle for this thread, criticism which by rights should have been directed at his idea, not the person behind it.

I know you like to play "Defender of the Meek", Troll, but a lot of the greif Fudle Pucker has gotten has been purely self-induced. First of all, he admits he doesn't even play TW. If that's the case, he's posting in the wrong forum--if he's making a suggestion for Continuum, he should be making it on the Continuum development forum. You know that's the case too--nothing would/could get done about it being posted in a Trench Wars/General Discussion forum.

Second, he's set a bad precedence for himself (in these forums) by threads such as "fuck fuckity fuckstick" or whatever it is in Trash Talk. You can't say that something like that boosts your credibility.

There's a few other decent reasons that people have been lashing out, and I'd take the time to ennumerate them, but I'm hungry, and hunger takes precendence over spaceships. I hope you understand.

My problem is when people disregard what is being said, not for its own merits but for who said it.

And as for the "fuck fuckity fuckstick" thread, other people have done worse with more regularity, but Fudle managed the rare feat of actually putting it into an appropriate forum.

Heck, he's done nothng that differs much from what Louis posts, the only difference being their collective histories.

You've got a valid point. I'm not trying to justify it, but it happens all the time. However, I don't think everyone on this thread judged by the poster's name. It's just as feasible that some people thought it was just a dumb idea (myself included).

1) When i said "newbie zone", i didnt mean it a bad way. When people first try continuum, they go to TW, the most populated zone on their default zone list. So naturally, TW has a lot of newbs.

2) I only post in this forum because it's a good continuum related forum with a general discussion.

3) Hmm, I get flamed by newbies who dont have enough intellegence to think of a better nick for themselves, like "eehh", or assholes who's answer to every problem "is ur dumb".

4) Hahah, one of you newbies made one of my posts a signature. That shows a lot of things, like one of them is your obviously just some guy who likes to flame people for absolutely no good or true reason because it makes you feel good. And that's not a good sign, it means there is something wrong with your brain, and you should see a therapist or whoever can help you.

Its sad how some of you can be so cruel to this guy, even though it was stupid of him to say I thought of this cool idea "homing missiles".... his point of trying to add extra stuff to Continuum is ok in my books.

I know we are all use to traditional settings, etc.. but sometimes it is neat to experiment.
