they arn't that bad, i personally don't like them, and i do hate all these people that are like "good charlotte, punk as fuck" and shizzle, and they be like "i love punk! like... good charlotte! and... blink 182! and... sum41! yeah! wooo!" and good charlotte, in particular, like take selling out to a whole new level, hosting a tv show on mtv and shit.... but as much as i don't like it when people sell out, who's gonna say no to money? and i don't think they're that pop-ish, it's just all rhe radio play and shit makes them look all poppy...

If you don't like them, don't listen to them. It's pretty easy to avoid bad music unless you live next to people with a very nice stereo system or you have loser friends.

I don't see a huge problem with selling out, hell you'd do it to too (So would I for that matter). But bands like Good Charlotte can't sell out because they never had anything. Claiming that they sold out is giving them the pleasure of knowing they had something going and they gave it all up to make some cash.

well some people misinterpret the definition of selling out. if a band starts out with the intention of being famous and making lots of money, then if they succeed it's not selling out... it's merely accomplishing the goal they set out to do. real selling out occurs when a group starts off with good intentions but then bends their focus (and sometimes even their whole musical style) when money gets waved in their direction.

at any rate, the recording industry wins more than the artist.
