I gOt VIrUs

I mean my PC got the virus.

I formatted my PC twice in the last 4 days ... to no avail, it seems that everytime I reinstalled windows, I got the virus back in less than 2 hours (AND TY I HAVE INSTALLED THE PATCH FOR WINDOWS).

And don't you love those virus scans? They work perfectly well WHEN YOU DONT HAVE A VIRUS. But once you do, haha, they seem to be completely incompotent. I left my PC on all night for the virus scan to run ... and 10 hours later, it's not even half done.

Seriously, if you formatted your machine twice because you got Blaster, Nachi, or SoBig, you're ridiculous.

To remove and patch for any of these, it should take like 5 minutes, tops. And that's if you have to explain it to a deaf/mute to do it for you.

Besides the 1st time I formatted my PC was because I got too many programs installed on it and I am running on a Pantium II with 192MB of ram ... I formatted it the 2nd time coz its just convinient.

BTW why do you have to be so mean, I am not computer illiterate, Kz? You damn system administrator.

Dammit, I did say in the 1st post in this thread that I installed the patch for Window 2000, then I remembered that I have this habit of randomly deleting stuff that look to be either suspicious or redundant form my PC.

I burnt the patch on to a CD before I formatted the hard drive. Then I reinstall the patch after I installed the window.

No wonder every time the patch get installed, it practically took 0 secs ... now I think about it, I prolly randlomly delete the real stuff from the pack and the nothing got installed @_@

Edit: It's kind of strange though that I didn't get any warning messages :/

Get firewall and vs Installed
Get online (don't check email )
Update with windows patches and get the latest virus signitures from your vs's web site.
Andd errrmmm make sure you really do get the patch insalled
