    damn wadi... that's pretty intense

mine is pretty much strength training on M-W-F's.... about 2 hours each day doing a full body workout.

T-TH's are for jogging. i haven't gone jogging in a few weeks, but as soon as my work schedule slows down again, i'll do about 30-45 minutes on lunch breaks. also, i throw in some bleachers and sprints. sometimes in place of jogging (during rainy season or whatever), i'll just do light aerobic rowing on the bowflex.

then 1 day each weekend is reserved for band practice (i count a 6-hour drum session as aerobic exercise =P)

I need to get back into the whole "band" thing. Let's start a TW supergroup, gerbz.

          gerb do you gain muscle?

cuz usually you should work on a group of muscles just once a week...they need time to heal, but if you're doing the training for higher reps and lower weight, then i'm not sure

but for big muscles, once a week is best, from waht i understand
          Ну вот...

I usually workout at nights, around 8ish, every other day. Lift weights (separating push and pull days) and go for a 20 min run afterwards - about 3 miles.

yea i'm gaining muscle. i started weight training about 2 months ago with a 3 days on, 1 day off plan (chest/back, arms/abs, lower body). so basically, i'd only work each muscle group twice a week. but then i've been reading that muscles only need about 48 hours to heal (even less when using protein supplements, but i'm not going to push that), so i bumped that up to working out 3 times a week but doing all muscle groups at once. i'm still not "built", but i've had a dramatic improvement in definition. i'm not really going for gigantic muscles, so the weight is relatively low... instead i'd just rather have an "athletic" build.

If you're going for tone I highly recommend trying to find a rock climbing gym in your area. I was doing climbing workouts once every other day when I lived in Seattle (Stone Gardens Gym in Ballard), and I've yet to find a better way to build definition. That being said, climbing's catabolic, so it's definetly not for people who want to bulk up. I actually dropped 10 pounds (135-125) in the 6 months I did it.

that would be great, except that i have a phobia about heights and i refuse to go anywhere near airplanes or rock gyms.

swimming and wrestling are also very good for that

i guess you're right now that i think about it, cuz once i started working out the muscles would hurt worst on the 2nd day without fail, but after a couple months they didn't hurt at all

since you are going for tone and not weight, it's probably a good idea to keep off the protein supplements, but they probably wouldn't hurt

what do you guys think about the home gyms like bowflex and that other crap?
                            Ну вот...

well i bought a bowflex 2 months ago because i was too lazy to keep going to the gym. it's alot easier to get your workouts done when the equipment is in your living room staring you in the face anytime you're about to leave your apartment. overall, i'm really pleased with it. despite nautilus direct (bowflex's parent company) having shitty customer support and exceptionally long shipping times, the machine itself is quite good. i got the power pro base model and spent the extra money for the leg curl attachment. the workouts are pretty much the same as with free weights, but it takes far less time to switch between exercises/weight. the only thing i would've changed about my order would be to take advantage of the discounted price to add an extra 100 pounds of weight rods (power pro comes with 210 lbs, but you can pay half price if you add the extra 100 to your order instead of waiting until later).

as for the other home gyms, i'd imagine they're all pretty much the same as far as getting results would go. it just depends on if you stay dedicated to using it and/or using it properly. the chuck norris one is mainly for a gymnastic type build, free weights are for gigantic buff people, and the bowflex is for a nice medium between the two.
