Alright, enough edits, but I thought of another:

    Hugh Masekela - Grrr

    Great shit.
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

Don't forget the great jazz vocalists:

Sarah Vaughan - Verve Jazz Masters #42

I actually don't own all the albums yet, so I have no other choice than to suggest you check out the following individual recordings:

Ella Fitzgerald - Cheek to Cheek (The English Patient Soundtrack)

Dinah Washington - I Get a Kick Out of You

Nina Simone - Little Girl Blue

Mel Tormé - Lil Darlin' (AKA Don't Dream of Anybody but Me)

Frank Sinatra - Luck Be a Lady // Where or When

Natalie Cole - Orange Colored Sky

Nat King Cole - I Love You (for Sentimental Reasons)

      Sarah Vaughan - Tenderly

      Linda Ronstadt - Lush Life

      Aretha Franklin - Skylark

Diana Ross - Theme from Mahogany

Diana Krall - Peel Me a Grape // Let's Fall in Love

Tony Bennett - The Girl I Love [mtv unplugged]

k.d.lang - Dream a Little Dream of Me

Ella & Louis - They Can't Take That Away From Me ($$$)

So obviously many of these artists have multiple recordings of the title's I'm leaving you with so don't come to me and say "it sucks" because in that case I would say that you've found the wrong track. More on this later.

yeah some boots is a really good album...so is this bed is an ocean (or something like that) but yeah you're right i find the lyrics repitive as well as some of the songs....they need more diversity. you listen to geoff farina's solo stuff any? that's not bad but probably not as good as karate i think..

if you haven't heard much Jazz and are looking to start to listen to some, then get "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis. Apart from being the biggest selling jazz album of all time it is essential to have in your collection. Still one of my favourites

Another really exception singer who I forgot to list is Jane Monheit. Her technique is just amazing, ALONG with her tone. The first song I heard her sing is 'Some Other Time'. Since then I've been hooked. Check out her recording of 'Waters of March'.

                              Jazz music while you are:

                              Having sex: David Sanborn

                              Cruising: Boney James, Spyro Gyra

                              Stoned: Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton

Notice I only like contemporary Jazz...
