These are in no particular order.
I'm doing the same deal as beez, these weren't all released this year.

The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium
Modest Mouse - Building Nothing Out of Something
    Onelinedrawing - Sketchy EP
    Q And Not U - Different Damage
Rise Against - Revolutions Per Minute
The Sea and Cake - Oui
Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade
    Cursive - The Ugly Organ
No Motiv - Diagram For Healing
The Lawrence Arms - Apathy and Exhaustion

Anything by The Dismemberment Plan, Les Savy Fav, Neutral Milk Hotel, Spoon, and Grandaddy is worth a look f0sh0.

Rise Against is a bit too... vicious? for me, I've got Heaven Knows but is the rest of the CD like that? Also I'm thinking of getting a Lawrence Arms CD, they're on the same label as a lot of the groups I like - Fat Wreck Chords - what kind of music is it? Who can you compare them to?

also don't forget about the suicide machines and operation ivy. i'm not a huge op ivy fan, but they do get credit for popularizing that style.

That is all true. Fat wreck also run www.punkvoter.com and contribute to other organisations who are against Bush, and are putting together a cd - Rock Against Bush - featuring Green Day, all the Fat Wreck stable, Alkaline Trio, etc... Fat Mike and his wife Erin run it

Edit: They're gonna do a Rock Against Bush tour too but I'm not sure if they're taking it to Europe

Mike, you like Alkaline Trio. You'll like The Lawrence Arms, too. :]

Rise Against is just plain fucking awesome. It's not too vicious for me. I think you'd like it.
