The book to this film was written by a bloke called Nick Hornby who also wrote High Fidelity (John Cusak, Jack Black) and About A Boy (Hugh Grant, some kid who looks really like Matt Holland). Its all about an Arsenal supporter's season and looks really good, although I haven't seen it and I don't know how it would do over the twatlantic because no one's really got a grasp of football over there.Originally posted by Adeon

Considering just metal ( in all possible categories), the candidates for this year's best would be the following:
Aeons Confer - Demo (yes, its a demo, so what)
Falkenbach - Nefna Tysvar Ty
Finntroll - Visor om Slutet
Moonsorrow - Kivenkantaja (for details, see Windir's description)
Nokturnal Mortum - The Taste of Victory
Opeth - Damnation
Soilwork - Figure Number Five
The Old Dead Tree - The Nameless Disease
Windir - Likferd (actually slightly above the others IMO)
As for other genres, theres plenty of stuff, like the new Muse, Yann Teirsen's "Good Bye Lenin!" OST and many other albums i really cant remember right now.

Dodging what? You're making the generalization here, not me. Quite honestly, I think the movie example is just retarded in general, seeing as it costs MUCH more money to put out a movie than it does to put out an album, thus giving a much larger edge to big-budget Hollywood than the major labels have over indie music labels. That, combined with the fact that the movies you listed seem to be completely listed at random, seeing as none of them were even released in 2003.Originally posted by Adeon
At any rate, I think you'd agree you're doing a much better job of dodging than I ever did.
If I were saying "no songs on the radio have any artistic merit at all, and everything that I listen to is infinitely better in every regard" then, yeah, sure, you'd have a valid point. However, it just happens to be my opinion that no albums that are played on the radio (which would be your definition of mainstream, as far as I can tell) are as good as the albums that I listed. You're calling me an angsty teen for that, and I'm just trying to figure out why you think I shouldn't call you a crotchety hick in return.5:gen> man
