This is an article from Britain's biggest selling newspaper The Sun, unfortunately I can't post the link as one of the reasons its the biggest selling paper is because it has a topless model on page 3 every day, not that there's anything wrong with that. If you want to verify this story then go to the The Sun's site and type the headline in the search box:

Is this ghost of Henry VIII?

Mystery ... astonishing photo shows ghostly figure in doorway

    By JOHN KAY
    Chief Reporter

A SPOOKY apparition caught on security cameras at Hampton Court Palace could be the ghost of notorious King Henry VIII, experts said last night. The phantom figure, sporting 16th-century garb, was spotted as guards scanned CCTV footage at the ancient palace, once home to Henry — and famed for reports of supernatural activity. Leading authority Terry O’Sullivan said he was convinced the picture showed the ghost of the king, who wed six wives before dying in 1547. Mr O’Sullivan, the College of Psychic Studies’ top expert on ghosts, also claimed it was highly significant that the CCTV footage — released yesterday — had been filmed during October. He said: “The period around Hallowe’en is the most active for apparitions of this kind. “It is the time of the year when the veil between this world and the other world is at its thinnest. I find it entirely believable that this was the ghost of Henry VIII. He was a very vain man who thought nothing of changing religions to suit his own purposes and killing people who got in his way."

Notorious ... Henry VIII lived at
Hampton Court on banks of Thames

“I think this was a case of him dropping in from the other world to have a look around — and that he wanted to be seen. He’ll be revelling in all the publicity." Paranormal investigator David Taylor agreed it could be Henry. He said: “Hampton Court is the scene of numerous ghost sightings over the years and is linked to some of Henry’s more hideous crimes like the murder of his wives. “Clearly he was a tormented soul and for that reason his spirit may live on in the palace walls. Many believe that when somebody has led a tortured life, full of anger and hurt, the soul of that person will haunt a place where he spent most of his time. And in this case it may be that Henry is trapped forever where he carried out so many evils.” Mr Taylor added: “This could well be one of the most significant paranormal sightings in years.” Hampton Court, built in 1514 beside the Thames in South West London, was recently placed fourth in a list of the capital’s most supernatural locations. Yet despite frequent reported sightings, no ghost has ever been caught on film.

The amazing new figure was seen as guards examined CCTV footage to probe repeated reports of an open fire exit in an exhibition area of the palace. The men secured the doors on each occasion, then returned to their office to view video footage to discover who had opened them.

Reputation ... Palace has long history of reported sightings

On the first occasion the film showed the doors flying wide open, but with no evidence why. But on the second, the guards were stunned when the ghostly figure in period dress appeared on the screen and CLOSED the doors. The same thing happened on a third day, but no figure was seen. However on the same day, a tourist noted in the visitor book that she had seen a ghost in that area. One guard said: “I was shocked to see this eerie figure in the doorway. It was incredibly spooky as the face just didn’t look human. “My first reaction was that someone was having a laugh, so I got my colleagues to take a look. We spoke to our costumed guides but they have no costumes like that. It’s all quite unnerving.”

Three of Henry VIII’s wives — Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard and Jane Seymour — are said to have haunted parts of the palace. Last night psychologist Prof Richard Wiseman, who studied the Haunted Gallery at Hampton Court Palace for ten days in 2000, called the photo “fascinating”.

Thanks a bagillion to Lemmin for hosting the pictures

The Sun is basically the same as the New York Post.. in other words it's a tabloid. It's like one step up from the National Enquirer but not that much...

funny he seemed to have lost weight in the past several hundred years.

lets have a debate whether a ghost can actually lose weight ...
