    found it!

The Duallist Single Foot Double-Bass Pedal
    http://www.theduallist.com/index2.html

you can also add on a regular double-bass attachment to make it a TRIPLE bass pedal.

it's expensive, but musician's friend has it for like half price.

drumming is like the coolest thing ever, i wish i had the coordination and the automatic tempo in my head, when i was playing music keeping tempo was always the hardest thing for me

What's hard for me is when I try to just lightly strike the hi-hat continously and hit the bass drum in seperate patterns. I hit the damned hio-hat everytime I hit the bass, and I can hardly control it. I can't separate my hands from my feet. It'll happen sooner or later though.

sorry for bringin this back but i found a way to set up my drums:

get rid of the lower sounding tom and put a ride cymbal in that space, then connect my other tom to my crash cymbal stand, and get a splash cymbal and maybe some other various cymbals

so from left to right im gonna have...hi-hat,crash,tom,bass,splash cymbal, floor tom and snare between my legs

i play punk/emo music and i saw a lot of drummers at a show i went to, with that basically same setup so i thought i should try it out

and can some1 tell me the real difference between splash and crash cymbal?

EDIT: wait..should i get rid of the lower or higher sounding tom?

a crash cymbal is the most common type of cymbal. you hit them and they make a crash sound. there's several different sizes that offer different degrees of lightness/darkness to the crash which provides excellent variety for intense musical detail regardless of what genre you play. most rock/metal/punk drummers use 2 crashes in their kits, one dark and one light. the darks are usually an inch or two smaller than a ride cymbal and the lights are usually a couple of inches smaller than the darks.

a splash is a very tiny form of crash symbal.. maybe only around 6 inches in diameter. it's a very high-pitched crash that's meant to be used sparingly to accent certain fills. most people don't use splashes, but you'll see them quite frequently in jazz bands.

choosing toms is completely dependent on individual taste. rock bands typically use 3 toms (high, medium, floor). most punk bands drop the high tom and only play with the remaining two. metal bands usually add more toms, ranging anywhere from 4 to 6 toms (think of how tool uses toms). but you can really use whatever you want. though, i'd highly suggest keeping the floor tom for your style.

in my current band (hybrid of metal/punk), i use the 4 tom setup... the basic 3 plus a tropical-style tom that i tuned as low as possible for a really cool bongo-ish sound. in my old band (punk), i used just 2 toms... the high and the mid, but i tuned the mid down so it sounded like a tight floor tom. also, it should be noted that there's hundreds of different types of tom skins that you can buy, each having their own unique sound. so it's completely customizable if you put the time into it.

If you're just starting off. Do not get double bass man. Learn to use your right foot before you use both. And if you're into dbl bass songs learn to use your floor tom to imitate the sound untill you have your right foot down pat. Secondly umh you don't need a lot of cymbals yet. At most 2 crashes a ride a splash and a small china. Ok. Sabian cymbals are great Im sure Zildjan are too but they aren't my preference. Watch Drummers like Portnoy, Peart, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Tim Alexander. Lots of wicked drummers. If you wanna be good you have to practice. have fun. Msg me anytime you like about drums I love them myself.

I use Iron Cobra dbl bass, great reaction just for me. What kinds of kits do you guys play on? I play on a set of Mapex Pro M's

                    14" snare
                    10" tom
                    12" tom
                    13" tom
                    16" tom

the 13 and 16 are on the floor and I have the 10 and 12 shifted to the right so that they aren't on the bass drum, I find it easier on my back etc. Using Sabian aa's and AAx's i have 13" stage AAX hats, they are fast and crisp I love them so much. I use evans heads g2's normally. Tell me what you guys use

                      floor tom
                      hi tom
                      low tom
                      bass

i need cymbals real bad, all i have is a hi-hat and 1 crash and they sound really horrible..how much does a pack of good cymbals go for and wat's included in a cymbal pack?

Edit: Oh, and im not planning to get double bass pedal anytime soon..i can hardly separate my one foot from my hands yet, but im working on it

On a slightly relared subject, I just bought two 600 watt peak, 300 watt RMS PA speakers from Seismic Audio. Anyone suggestions on what type of system I need to get the most out of these speakers? I plan on running vocals and one guitar through it, although more inputs would be cool.

i'm a sabian fan. alot of people say zildjian cymbals are the best, but i find they sound too generic. sabian cymbals, in my opinion, have a more distinct difference in sound between each cymbal size... it kind of gives a more jazzy feel.

my drum kit is a big patchwork of different genres of equipment. the actual drumset itself is a yamaha jazz kit with an all-sabian lineup of cymbals (dark crash, light crash, ride, and hi-hats) to accent the jazzy crispness. my toms are yamahas, but have all been re-skinned with the black remo skins for a dark, heavy feel... even the caribbean tom has a black remo. my double-bass is an iron cobra to add a touch of metal (i'll probably replace this with the dualist single-foot double pedal soon, modified with the left foot portion of my iron cobra so i could play a triple-pedal). my snare is just a generic snare, reskinned ultra-tight for a punk/ska feel... however, i'm going to eventually buy a piccolo snare for an even tighter sound. oh, and i use 7A sticks because they're smaller and faster than the 5A's that everyone uses. they break often, but there's little tricks you can learn to help them live longer.
