I live in a smaller city than you, so the prices are less here for everything.. it's more in vancouver and calgary and stuff, coz they can afford to charge that much in those cities.. here if they charged 10-16$ for a movie, no one would be able to go / afford it.. higher cost of living in bigger cities I suppose.. Most smaller cities in Canada don't charge like 10$ for a movie.. I think the most I've ever paid was 8.50$ :/

ROTK sucked my fat nuts. I dont know why there was still a line up weeks after it came out. Also, i pay $13 here to see a movie. CDN, but still, seems like a lot to see 3 1/2 hours of bullshit.

aenima, I would have almost certainly done it from a first person perspective (Frodo's) with the blurry ring effect that was used in the first installment. The constant movement + the original blurry effect would add to the confusion and the over all excitement of the scene.

Edit: If you need to pan out from the 1st person, you can always depict the struggle as being two-sided, with the ring constantly popping on and off of frodo's finger. that way, the character at least "shimmers" in an out of sight, and doesnt look as gay as an invisible space with no silhouette, shadow, or outline.

i saw along came polly this weekend too. it was pretty fair for a borderline chick flick comedy. critics of course will hold their opinions but everyone knows that they are just that: opinions. i give it 5.5/10 stars.

by the way something about mary was ok the first time i saw it with few funny parts but for some reason i really liked meet the parents. dunno but it made me laugh and that's all i was looking for.

Meet the Parents was difinately better than Mary and Zoolander was funny shit too. Tell me though, you say the movie is anticlimatic yet you say you read the books... now, explain how exactly the movie is anticlimatic when the book depicts the shire being destroyed after they "saved the world" .. yea now I see why the movie was really anticlimatic ...^^
