yeah those vegas tournies where they show you the undercards from cameras built in the underside of the table ... although not a hard hitting sport, its a damn good watch when I catch it on tv ....you can't beat a bunch of old guys trash talking, losing all their money and being kicked out of a tournie they hoped to win... it just doesn't get any more exciting then that

I've held a bunch of no limit Texas Hold'em tourneys. Nothing like pushing all your chips into the pot. It's good fun. I set the buy-in low so people who never played before aren't intimidated. If they get knocked out, they're only out $4 bucks. If you get enough people, the winner's payouts are decent.

              GENERAL FORMAT
$4 buy-in, start with $5 stack, no rebuy
Late buy-in only before 45 minutes after start, seated in big blind position
Upto 11- 1 table of 10, 11th player replaces 1st player out (seated in his position)
Over 11- 2 tables, combine at 10 players left
              Draw for seating
              Blinds:
              Hour 1 $0.20-0.40
              Hour 2 $0.40-0.80
              Hour 3 $0.75-1.50
              Hour 4 $1.50-3.00
              Hour 5 $3.00-6.00

              GAMEPLAY RULES
Pre-flop: Left of dealer posts small blind, 2 left posts big blind, 3 left is under the gun
Post-flop: Left of dealer is under the gun
2 players: Dealer posts small blind
A player cannot miss a big blind due to player elimination, button will be adjusted and can remain in the same position to prevent this.
Big blind may raise the original bet.
Opening bets must be >= big blind.
Raise has to be >= previous bet or raise in current round.
Last call or raise reveals cards first, then clockwise.
Winning hand must show both cards. Losing hands do not have to reveal cards.

              PAYOUTS
              3 Winners 50-30-20
              4 Winners 45-30-15-10
              5 Winners 40-30-20-10-10

                  Poker rocks $$
We have poker nights like once a month and we play a couple games of $5 Texas Hold'em (cuz my lil bro plays and he's always broke) and last time I won like 15 bucks, it rocked.
I also like Crisscross; I was almost dead and got an awesome full house (three Aces and 2 Kings $$) and won (obviously).
                  Anyway, poker rocks.

                  EDIT:I can't type.
                  EDIT2:This is my 169th post lol >.<

Some guys at my school held an underground poker tourny... you had to qualify to get any information about it, and only the top 50 got in.
                    $20 buy-in wasn't so bad...made the prizes huge.
                    1th - $400
                    2th - $300
                    3th - $200
                    4th - $100

I got 4th i'm thinking about donating to server now... :P

I play poker almost every week on Thursday. Mostly Hold'em, 7-card, and guts but I lose too often, I need to stop calling.

No, on Home & Leisure or Bravo. Usually on about 11

Love the game. We used to go on 6 to 9 hour binges playing for nothing but pocket change just so someone could go home with busfare, but it was still fun as hell. I wouldn't have expected the tv coverage that's sprung up to be as exciting as it actually is.

I'm actually working on a online multiplayer poker game, but it's the kinda thing I'll probably never finish. If I do I'll be ressurecting this thread.

i know nailed mentioned the home and leisure channel on bravo, but the WPT (world poker tour) is on the travel channel all the time. Fox sports also has a couple shows...late nite poker, and poker at the sands.

great, i'm glad there are some of you guys who like the game of poker. at my last job i used to host a game every 2 weeks, but after a few months, i think the novelty wore off for a few of them and it became hard to recruit a full table. the stakes were pretty low ($20 buy blinds .25/.50).

I have DVR (something on the satillite [which I can't spell] where ya just click on the thing that you wanna record and it records it and saves it on the hard drive and then you can watch it whenever you feel like it) and that's how I record the poker things. Also good for movies you're too lazy to buy >.< But yea anyway, back on topic...
