The NDP wont win but they might break their record for seats and vote percentage. Forming official opposition for the first time ever is even a possibility right now... but I'll admit that it's unlikely. The Liberals might win a minority government, precendent is the NDP would then be part of the coalition government and therefor would have a place at the table when the government makes its decisions. Exciting things are happening for the NDP.

I can vote this year too, but I don't think I'll vote, I don't really like any of the people that are running for spots where I live.

Since I'm a university student I'd want the tuitions frozen of course, but that would mean NDP gets back into the canadian parliament, which is almost impossible as it stands. All parties are pretty much in shambles except the Liberals, and guess what, they hike it up every year

Checked out the partys website and had a look at their policies (http://action.web.ca/home/ndpnpd/en_issues.shtml) and they don't look like a bad option at all.

Seems like at least Canada has a true democratic option, contrary to the pseudo center/right option that are called the "Democrats" in America.

Ya the NDP is only party that talks about issues which I think are important. Couldn't hurt to give them more representation! Some people think because they are left wing the freakin sky would fall in if they got elected. People said that before the NDP got elected in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the NDP has governed so good there that they get re-elected all the time! We're just talking about an opposition party anyway. The great thing about supporting the NDP is I know they won't form government (except as a coalition partner) so I don't need to fear them fucking up! All I'm talking about is electing the NDP instead of Conservatives. If we're going to have an opposition party it mays well be challenging the government to fix medicare, schools, cities, the enviroment, or tuition! Why do we need an opposition who has a love for one thing, and one thing only? LOWER TAXES. Oh, and the military. The Conservatives think its a shame we didn't have a bigger military because we couldn't help out in Iraq! The Conservatives are useless. Everyone would lower taxes if they could. Taxes are high because we need to pay for things! What do we need, schools, hospitals, roads... or lower taxes but a crumbling country?

Electing the NDP would send a message that the right-ward drift of the Liberal party isn't welcome! We want a safe enviroment (mass transit, etc), better schools, lower tuition, safe water, etc. Voting for the Conservatives will be sending the message that we want Martin to speed up the destruction of medicare and the enviroment! How does that sit with your values? I know it doesn't sit well with mine!!
