I'd say more like 80%. But I imagine it's worse at Cornell where Verthanthi and I go than a lot of places. Seriously these kids are fucked up people. MIT is probably the worst though. My friend got accepted for graduate school there so he went to check it out. On returning his first statement was "I can't go there, those kids are just too fucking nerdy. I go to a design school where my major is multimedia and web design. The programming classes are a little weak as most web applications are fairly light, but there is alot of variety. The best part though is playing with all the expensive equipment.

Holy shit i have to agree with you there. There is a kid that sits behind me i won't mention any names.. But he can't make one program work its fucking annoying.. He is the smartest idiot alive if you have ever met one of those :/ He runs around the class yelling drungor or some shit.. The one person copys off her boyfriend the whole time.. There are only two people who have a clue what they are doing.. And i think both of them could get into almost any college. ... But the worst thing is there is a kid in computer science 2 that talks shit all the time.. Since i make way much bettter webpages then he does.. he says all the time "I am soo good with photoshop now bla bla" (his website still sucks) He really needs to be punched :/ he thinks he can go into programming games.. lol what a joke

<Jason> Ice, the CS class you're taking is a fucking joke. From what I hear, it hasn't changed a bit since I took it, and back then it was laughable at best. That class is nothing like the real deal so don't decide you want to go into comp sci based upon your experiences in it. And last but not least, Buffington is a dickwad.

Jason, I think buffington is one the smartest people on earth. You really just need to think like him.. I have learned so much from him... He's sick and wont be working for a while which means we have to learn everything on our own.. So trust me i know what u mean "Pascal" isnt the real thing.. I kno.. Ive been practicing Java and C++. And have been browsing programming forums. I am prolly not going to be in a cubical either.. Im hoping to take the same route as my cousin. He went into computer science after he quit accounting and now he works at Hospital fixing all of there problems.. And he get paid well im guessing.

Actually, it's Turbo Pascal. Ice, Buffington is absolutely not one of the smartest people on earth. Did you know he was originally a chemistry teacher, and he got his comp sci degree taking night classes at a community college? He's hardly qualified to be a comp sci teacher. That, and he's just plain goofy to the point of being annoying.

I suppose the main reason I dislike him so much is simply because he disliked me. He couldn't handle the fact that some punk kid in his class knew way more about programming and computers in general than he'd manged to pick up in his night classes.

Pascal was taught in the entry level programming class at my HS too. I don't see why it is though. It teaches the same basic skills that you could do with a more robust language only, in my case, confused the hell out of me when I went to learn OOP.

I think that Pascal's normally taught as an introductory language as its syntax is easier for beginners to learn than C or Java, or something like that.
