ya man, internet is not cheap, my cable company has monopolized our town, they have 100% of the cable and 90% of the internet people. You can only get of it by getting a satellite and getting sympatico that's it! we pay yhtose bastards like 80 bucks a month for internet/cable.

I havent been able to play for most part for last 4 days. I have cable and even when I checked for viruses and found and deleted them and have pentium 4 processor i still have 10-20% ploss for s2c and c2s and this wasn't a problem for me 5 days at all. What the hell is wrong with tw's server, what did you guys change, plz unchange it. I also don't run any other programs during ss.

You might try completely wiping your hardrive clean (formatting) If that doesnt work, call your ISP they might be fixing things, on second thought call your ISP first

Try to trace (from your cont client) SSCU Trench Wars, there is prolly one router giving you the packetloss, conctact that server if you can.
I had same problem while ago when Hopone was giving many Finns ploss.

Seems like they have done someting, my ping is now +10-20 now then it normally was.

Ya mine seems a lil higher then it use to be to. I use to get 20 ms now i get 30-40.

Also havta remember Cable is only recently (past few years) becoming available to almost everyone. Like i said b4, up till last year i couldnt get cable connection in my area. Im sure there are still areas w/o it, or where it costs an arm and a leg. I konw here it costs 40$ + 5$ modem rental, where as i can get dialup for like 15$

What most dial-up users fail to account for is their actual phone bill. A flat dsl / cable fee of $30-50 can often be cheaper than your dial-up fee + the fee added to your phone bill through dial-up usage, depending on how much you use it.

This poll was taken nearly two years ago. It stands to reason, that since then, more people have gotten high speed connections (including myself), and the poll would therefore be even more lopsided towards the 100-200ms or lower categories now than back then. The minority (which, yes, it is) can't run the show here.

I highly doubt the majority of TW reads forums or votes on polls for 1. There were 84 votes on that poll, i highly doubt that stands for the majority of TW, or of SS in a whole for that.

As for the phone server/dialup. I am speaking from when i had dialup. I paid my phone bill (which i had anyway) then i paid 15$ a month for my dialup connection. There was no added fee bc of how much i used it or whatnot w/ the phone company. In other areas if that happens then yes its a bitsh But u gotta remember like u said cable is 30-50$ a month where that dialup is 15$. Most ppl still have to pay there phone bill (regular bill) with or without a connection. I doubt its another 20$ added a month for to much usage or whatever it is.

Im one of those people that could easily afford a cable or DSL connection, heck I even payed over 1000 for satellite only to find out its a waste, but as of right now the only two things available to me are dialup and satellite, I am on the waiting list for Earthlink and verizon and a bunch of others and I usually put my adress and name back into the waiting list often. Nothing I can do atm other than move, and thats not happening. I usually get 150ms...BUT it tends to spike up, just because dialup isnt so steady.

Cant you get comcast where your at? U probably arent all that far from me and i got comcast. But ya it isnt always the price, its sometimes location. Although i imagine cable companies are getting around nowdays so almost everyone has access. But i konw when i was at my old house all i had access to was a realy slow dialup service. Which gave me nothing less then 400 ms, i was usualy over 500. Which in return was hellish to play. That was b4 the server moved tho.

haha ya i get em to! Every once in awhile i'll go up in packetloss for some odd reason :P Owel tho usualy 99% of the time its good tho. 20-30 ms, .1 .1 highest usualy.

Reav sux to be u I use to liv in an area like dat b4 i moved here and ya all ic ould get was a REAL shitty Dialup service who b4 server moved i had 550 ms and nothing less then 2% ploss, and after server moved i got nothing less then 300 ms and 1% ploss. Show su how shitty it is
