How long will SS or TW stay alive

Who thinks SS or TW will stay here for another 10 Years, I hope it'll last forever, but I don't think that'll happen. Wonna know something SubSpace is at the 100 Best online games (don't really know what place there at)

I think if Continuum/Subspace would get buyable again it would gain more money then now, PriitK wouldn't have to work as much then maybe. Because since we all know there are a LOT of players who plays this game. And if all the addicts (myself) saw that you had to buy you would. And ofcourse try to make friends and other buy it. I think that would be great and make it last longer.

As long as the player base is there, the game will be there. If we had to buy Continuum, a one time fee for the software and then free updates for life, I suppose it wouldn't kill the player base. If we had to pay to play, bye bye spaceships.

well, we are here talking about a TW point of view...
Currently, all the zones have become accustomed to playing for free, so it wont just be our 400-800 players that will be affected, it will be ALL the ppl that play subspace. (1200 ppl?)

And im sure the 400-700 at any given time will stoop down to like 100-200, I mean, I wouldnt wanna see TW become a Redstar zone...

I dont think its a good idea to get people to pay. People might support the idea in the beginning, but it will eventually die out.

Thats why we need to get people hooked on the game, and get them to start loosening up their pockets, and start donating.

What Jason said. I don't care how much I like a game. If I have to pay a monthly fee, I'm gone (just calculate the annual money you spend relative to regular retail games, and you see why).

When it was a pay game, I just waited until someone cracked it, so I couldn't play for a few days every time there was an update.

If SS went pay, I think it would be ok at first but it would die out eventually as there would be no new players coming in. The reason people start this game (other than recomendations by friends) is because it's free and there's nothing to lose from trying it out.

I don't think a one off payment is the way to go but pay2play is even worse.

If you want a nice example of what would happen if it went to a Pay game, look at Cosmic Rift. I think there is less people playing in the entire game in all zones of Cosmic Rift than there are in the pubs in Trenchwars.

Well, if SS were for sale again, and we had someone like, for discussion's sake EA (hypothetical, don't get on a rant how ea won't want this game) take this game. I'd wonder what would happen to the servers themselves. Like, would there be EA hosted servers, Gamespy servers? Would they take over current high-pop servers? I dunno. I wouldn't think that someone would ever take this game out for retail again tho, if you ask me.

No one would play this shitty 2-d spaceship game for a monthly fee. I'd just go play PSO or SWG instead. Better games with a $10 fee a month. so FU PAY PEOPLE
