Depends how you played. Going from a P60 with 640x400 res to an AMD 450K6-2 with 1600x1200 res made a huge difference.

Going from playing with a certain sized screen to a different sized screen that's 7.5 times bigger does that.

well, if you take the best squads to dominate this zone, elusive / siege / TW Elites / LAME / Rampage, you have like 99% of the best players because they were all on the same squad, which is why its called a supersquad. Look no further than the TWL champion roster that is posted in ?go twld. explains it all.

i don't pretend to know about anybody who played more than 2 seasons ago, but i think that some of you guys are living in the past.

you cannot compare the players of today to the players of years ago. today there is a more even playing field, and a higher average skill level.

the res limit that was imposed whenever it was would, i would venture a guess, make 80% of those people none of us newbies have ever heard of fairly mediocre. people can say what they like, but this is my honest opinion.

how hard could it have been to have a big screen, a higher res than anybody else, and just never die?

I still don't understand how I used to do much better before the res cap considering that I used 1024 and 1280 res . Maybe it was just a much smaller crop of players so you didn't have to be THAT good to stand out.

however, i find it hard to believe that 80% of the "best players to ever play trench wars" do not play anymore, or are, coincidentally, "not at their peak" anymore.

most of those guys that still play are shit now actually. Only about 3 of them were legit.

Hard to say who is the best ever, I'd probably go with banzi if we're just talking about wb/jav. Right now I think vihta and sika are at the top of the wb game and hellzno! is probably the best all arounder.

I really haven't played much at all since the res restriction was put in, not only because of the restriction, but becuase of other things as well, so I'm sure I'll miss a lot of really good players I've never heard of because I wasn't around to see them play.

Rogue = Rogue Demon... he's been playing forever, was on Rampage, Elusive (the original), and a ton more squads.

Incognito = MY NAME. THAT BASTARD Incognito_ (Disqualifier's Real Life best friend) made me use Epi in this zone. I really liked the name Incognito but everyone thought I was that newbie. Then finally when I gave him the name years later he had the gall to just quit subspace a few weeks later. Bastage.

And Eeth... Showtime was like 11 dude, I really hope you didn't have trouble killing him hehe.

I like FF's list although FBZ already pointed out some errors, so I like FBZ's list more!

As for Symbol, he was one of the best damn elim players ever. I remember he wanted to join Elusive and I said to him who was some newbie at the time 'get number 1 in elim and hold it for 3 weeks while playing every day' and hell.. he did it. He used to go 24-3 in baseelims every game. But hell he was useless in league matches... absolutely useless, not to mention him suiciding 0-10 to cost us a game that bastard.

As for Sika, he's a good player yeah, but I can never say a guy who I recruited to make my squad's website to be that great.

As for Banzi, yeah he's a great player too, but since I used to target him when he was the newbie Banzi Fuq/Influx_ cause he had a good elim rating but was easy kills, it's hard. Not to mention I've only played against him in like 5 matches and we were 2-3 against them and he wasn't the main factor (FBZ/NYPD were amazingly).

As for the best car, currently that would be the Ferrari 360 Modena. No questions asked. That car isn't the fastest or most expensive, but hell it's a work of art. I'd get that car if I could get any car in the world (with the precondition that I couldn't just sell it in which case I'd just get the most expensive one and sell it).

As for underrated/not mentioned everyone forgets Adrenaline/Dead on Arrival/Choloroform/Accuracy (he had a lotta names). He was 1024 res and easily one of the best players in a time of 1600-2048 res... that's hard to do.

How about PoD (Path of Daggers)? He was average back in the old days, but in season 5 and 6 he was one of the most important figures around. He lead Elusive's basing team as captain in season 6, and was easily the best warbird of season 5 and a dominant jav to boot (shoulda recruited him when he asked to join haha).

As for best ever? Hell I'll be a little egotistical here and say me and Crome. Leading squads is harder than being on them Seriously though you can't really say...

There's too much going on to say but here's my opinion:

WB: Demonfaze/Vihta/Banzi/Blood
Jav: Psymorph
Base: Warportal/Mythrandir

I'd say those guys at the top of their games had more impact than anyone I've ever seen in this zone.

And no, no other jav comes close. Psymorph pretty much single handedly gave Elusive the jav win in Season 5 (sorry Joe but you were missing almost every playoff game cept that one you went 24-9 vs Light ... let's see Scuzzy do that.
