I've always preferred to type out the whole "good game" instead of just the acronym. "gg" just sounds too glib. Plus it doesn't sound as snobbish, or even like it's just a comment you throw out automatically; it sounds like you might actually mean it.

Whenever I finish a game in base I say 'gg' no matter outcome. I've heard some people say it is common courtesy to say it, while others think it is snobbish to say it. What is your opinion?

its snobbish. too many people only say gg if they win. so i never say it after games.

btw i usually dont mind spelling and grammar stuff but man u just butchered etiquette

I only say gg if it was a really good game. Otherwise it's just kind of stupid.

"gg" doesn't mean or intend the same harmful/rude thing in ?go base as in elim, belim or pub. Even if your freq doesn't win the game you can still play well, have a lot of FR battles and basicly have FUN, so that's why some people say it.

It's etiquette. I wouldn't be bothered normally but two people spelt it wrong and thought they might like to know.

and etiquette is a french word that which means the ticket (or something like that) refering to a piece of paper diplomats (or whatever they were called back then) would recieve when going to other places telling them how to act so they wouldn't offend the people with their different customs.
