As a game run entirely by volunteers -- one of the longest-running volunteer-run games of all time -- all play-testing is done live. There is no population to test maps, code or settings before they go live.

Keep in mind that summer is traditionally the lowest-population time for SS, as there are more people vacationing and enjoying the weather (though in recent years, "enjoy" has turned to "suffer through" in many parts of the world). We're also seeing a gradual return to normal life after a very long pandemic, and inevitably, people will spend less time on the computer. It's hard to separate player counts from those two significant factors.

If you believe you have a suggestion to improve things, it's very helpful to give it. I'd just ask that you please refrain from the urge to do so rudely, as the game is literally only kept alive by the efforts of volunteers. This is a hobby for everyone playing, staffing and developing, and not a day job.

Nobody will like every change. Generally, every single change is bound to be hated by at least one person. Separating individual preference from general observable trends has always been a challenge for our development team. If you think you see something that can be improved upon that we miss, it's important to say so. TW's players have always been its beta testers, for better or for worse, and the process only really works when you give clear and specific feedback.
"You're a gentleman," they used to say to him. "You shouldn't have gone murdering people with a hatchet; that's no occupation for a gentleman."

Thank you for the reply qan which I appreciate. Yes the game is plagued by a handful of bitter and resentful people who seem drawn to login and share their vitriol which does cloud any genuine and worthwhile views they hold on game changes. I also appreciate the efforts of those who have spent their time designing new maps or coding new features.

Ideally I would suggest players vote on any new map or major change after 30 days although of course with one player one vote not being guaranteed I can see this would not be possible.

I tested the map once I think I'm not a fan, but yes Biet is the biggest workforce in this game so complaining would be a terrible idea. Regarding the map all I remember is more time wasted to get to the combat zone which starts just below the flag room. Originally, this is already what I dislike the most about this game mode.

If there is scope to try new things one suggestion I thought had merit was a couple of bots in the fr ears. Whilst this might not be suitable 24/7 I did wonder if it would make for improved basing action when there are few players.

Thanks for the work to make these changes happen Biet, I think they're great.

I've played a bit and my one small quality of life change is that you make the entrance at the center of the mid-tube bar one tile higher (three tiles high instead of two). Since a terr already has to do a 90-degree turn it would be nice if they could kind of bounce through for a fast entry into mid-base the way you used to be able to squeeze through the middle bar when it was flat. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

The map is fine, but it feels too cluttered now, and more difficult to play. I can't make long-shots anymore. I can't wiz through mid-base anymore with the tunnel blocked. Flying around feels too sticky now. I don't know, the map is probably more fair now, but it's just not as fun to play.

I had an idea just now. LT's on the new map can really reign terror even more so now. There is extra protection unopposed on the roof with narrowing of hole and angles that help in the protection of the base. The upper sides of base need protection too honestly to make it fair for both the team holding and the team attacking on sides. Could we install a /!buy baseshield that would use bricks to incase the upper base? It could either totally close off the roof or allow a brick shield that would pad proximity wall damage LEvi's and LevTerrs could inflict during the time the !buy item is being used. When there is a serious base duel going it would be cool for us to be able to buy some protection for an alotted time period. LT's could still enter from bottom.

Awful drawn lines but something like this maybe?

                  TWDT-J CHAMPION POWER 2018
                  TWDT-B CHAMPION POWER 2018
TWDT TRIPLE CROWN MEMBER POWER 2018
                  TSL TRIPLE CROWN FINALIST 2018
                  TSLD CHAMPION 2018
                  TSLB CHAMPION 2018
