I don't like jacen's idea
I like carzy canouckout's idea, except for the fact that getting the time just right is hard. Too much and you can google it, too little and you don't have enough time to answer.

As it is now, only native speakers have even the slightest chance on most questions (not only because they read/tyep faster, but aslo because most questions are about things that concern americans).


a !report would be a cool feature too, for reporting bad/outdated questions

I'm up for a change. At least some new questions, since it's getting to the point where I have to give 50 question-headstarts to give other people a chance.

And *no* I don't cheat, or macro, or uber-google, I'm just a very fast typer with a near-perfect memory. Who can speed-read. It's not a matter of cheating, Overburn, just recognising a couple of keywords in a second and typing like hell.

Jacen's buzz idea is a good one, or just one where everyone with a right answer in the time limit (or nearly right, is there some way to account for small typos?) get a point, and it's to 30 or something.

we have an issue at hand... too long and assholes can google, too short, and dumbasses cant think quick.


How does 5 seconds work for yall? count in ure head.... 1-2-3-4-5, that aint enuff to go to ure other window, no matter how equal they r on ure screen, and punch in the search, get the answer, and type it to the bot... but at the same time, if ure sitting in the arena, its def enuff time to think of an answer if u know it... sure i want a change, but i guess we just cant make a HUGE change... how does this sound, everyone?

5 sec's isn't enough time, sometimes it's on the "tip of my tongue" and get something i really know in 12 seconds...most times the top trivia people don't get it until like 4 seconds...

well, I also do academic challenge (aka quiz bowl) and some other crap so I have basically trained myself to respond and think about things fast

Maybe the number of seconds can be related to the number of characters in the answer?

It takes considerably longer to type "Inter-continental ballistic missle" (What does ICBM stand for) than to type 0 (How many wings does a flea have)

oh shit, most people here don't know java i guess.... >.>, answer would be a String object which would be the answer to the problem, and the method length() returns the number of characters in the object....
