Yeah, in DD EACH player is damn important. When you're playing 4vs4 wb's, each player has to get those 10 kills. They all require individual skills. While in basing, you can win with a good terr, 2 good sharks, and 5 sucky spiders.
alf always lose whit deluge terring (he sucks) and rest of players was good :P
At least 3
But then again i don't think it takes very long to become known..
Simply from being active here and in game i've returned after a year knowing practically no one and i get PM raped and 4 or 5 messages when i log into game.
And i've only been active again in the community for just under 2 weeks
Time/ Popularity doesn't determine vet'ness It's based on skill "and" being known.. as in when someone says your name... everyone knows who you are...
Lol am i repeating myself?
The term "veteran" in my personal opinion is someone who has played for a long time and at one time when at peak was an awesome player. I think the minimum amt of years played would be 5 (Since Season 2). Season 1 + Season 2 players this year are considered vets by my standards. Next year Season 3 will be included. Plus it helps if the person is someone everyone knows, not a silent guy who just writes useless comments. (Example:Gallaleo (but he hasn't been playing long anyways)). Thats my 2 cents.
I found a nickel and I bought a fishing pole, Then I sold some fish, got a raft, fished more, sold massive fish, sold raft, bought a ship, hired a first mate (awesome), picked up a crew, won TWL.....
5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine
5: RoboHelp> Are you nuts? You can't ban a staff member!
5: Da1andonly> =((
5: Epinephrine> !ban da1andonly
5: RoboHelp> Staffer "da1andonly" has been banned for abuse.
5: Epinephrine> oh shit
Oh well, I remember when I started playing this game january 2002, thats some time ago. At first it was just fooling around in pub with ancients (spiderhate back then) before I even got interested in twl. Then I somehow got into sk8 and siege, back then it was blood/banzi/siege guys/some other good players dominating elim, and it was fun trying to compete with those guys. I never stood a chance. I remember getting in siege with code, and we were the newcomers there, I looked up on everyone. These same people continued to own me even after twl had ended, worst case being blood owning me with a flawless record of 32-0 or something like that (I know, I suck, but I still think he was on fire that game, I'm sure anyone would of had hard time with him). I remember the crowd, you rarely see that many ppl in elim these days ...
2nd year (If I remember right, I might mix up the years) I remember playing some basing with diso (they were good basers, bram, da1, warpie, etc...) and also playing with light (fireballz, ruby, etc...)..all good players who were much more experienced than me and I learned a lot from them all.
Then there was elusive, demonfaze came pretty much out of nowhere to dominate with fbz/vihta/rule/epi/2d/etc, I always was a filler in that squad but did my job ok (heh). I think most of these guys combined with sieges best were the best players of tw in those few years, of course you cant forget shrieks javs either but they never stayed around.
And this year was -f-, we all know what happened with -f-. It was interesting to play with all the old vets I had never played before with, like sika, domi, etc..(although we did have our difficulties).
I have to admit that I've always been scared of banzi/blood (must be because of those earlyday beatings I took from these guys) and later on demonfaze. No matter what I do, I just cant touch any of them. Although I'm sure you all have someone who strikes that same fear into you
ps. although skills are more important to a vet, a good attitude comes 2nd, and all of these guys have a nice attitude.
The only TWOTIME TWLJ All-Star and TWLB All-Star who never played a game.

WE SHOULD SUMMON A BOARD OF OLD SQUADCAPTAINS, ZONE SYSOPS, WINNERS OF TWL ETC. WHO COULD MAKE A LIST OF THE TRUE VETS, TO FINEALLY END THIS DISCUSSION!
or not.
seriously, you are not a vet if you care about being called a vet.
Your a vet if you remember old squads like Siege and Scrotals Horde. Your a vet if you don't care about playing as much, but just come to chill and have a good time. Your a vet if you don't bitch and whine when you get killed. Your a vet if you remember when you did squad duels in ?go #DarkvsCripples
Your a vet if you remember when there was no baseelim. You are a vet if you remember Crown of Thorns. You are vet if you know who Bilbo the hobbit is. You are a if you used Subspace 1.35 to play. You are a vet if you say prtiik (or how ever you spell it) playing. You are a vet if you have to take breaks from the game. Your a vet if you wish you were playing in the times of 'yore and you are a vet if you were playing when -Final- and Paladen was created. Your a vet if you played in an event hosted by MikeTheNose. Your a vet if Elicit owned you in wb in elim. Your a vet if you help other players. You are a vet if you DONT spawn in games because you know how lame it is. If your a vet, your tight, end of story.
Note: I realized I was using 'your' instead of "you're" and am to lazy to change it now.
