I'm going to have to comment you on that because it's not true heh. Most recruits which I have seen have started with recommendations. Guys/girls who I have wanted staff I have recommended and sure some of them got it, maybe not by my single recommend alone but still.
Yes but i also know others with 2/3/4 reccomedations who have never even been approached.
I just think that the current system is half ignored... maybe i just have a misconception though <_<
Heck, if i didn't have so many bans for stupid stuff (like tk'ing guano and spamming goddess) then i'd probably try and help out. I'm not quite a 30 y/o man but I'm 20 working on a CS major and it would be good experience for me. Maybe I'll download that bot core again, anyone remember the location of it?
5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine
5: RoboHelp> Are you nuts? You can't ban a staff member!
5: Da1andonly> =((
5: Epinephrine> !ban da1andonly
5: RoboHelp> Staffer "da1andonly" has been banned for abuse.
5: Epinephrine> oh shit

"You're a gentleman," they used to say to him. "You shouldn't have gone murdering people with a hatchet; that's no occupation for a gentleman."

Well, if I and some other guys in staff recommends let's say you, sure the dean will check you out and so, but just because we think you're good enough for staff doesn't mean that the dean agrees with us.
Someone needs to get Priitk to do some more work with the Continuum code... There are some more improvements that could be done, especially integration of bots (like giving staff the ability to spawn them whenever and wherever, and they will never lag out due to being right in the code, etc...) Also, the TW community, if not the Continuum community, needs to get together as a whole to talk to other people about this game. The only advertising we have is word of mouth, and if no one is talking, no one is going to know about it. The general player age of TW is probably growing rather fast. As some people start going to college or getting jobs after high school, they will most likely play less and less or not at all. As time goes on, it will only get harder to get more people involved, especially with all these new games with killer graphics start coming out (tho, gameplay quality seems to be going down, imo). People should start heading around to other forums (when they are bored, of course), trying to get people to at least try this game. The selling point will be, of course, the fact that it is 100% free. That sold me a long time ago.
i don't know about integrating bots. that could create some design limitations as far as new events are concerned. sure, you can put some administrative tools in to edit/revise/create from the existing methods that we have available, but if anyone wants something totally new, the client has to be recoded. priitk isn't known for frequent updates.
