Lagouts = unacceptable

I've been noticing some packetloss on the distant end from me. The two hops before the destination is where I get packetloss. I'm on cable as well with average 40ms and i'm still being called a "laggot" or somethings like that. It'll go down eventually, usually does. I'll reformat and see if that does anything, if not I'll just be patient.

Also the server has been lagging and even if ppl have a good connection their s2c will spike and spec them.. its bull shit

Also what i think is complete BULLSHIT is that u set the lag limits freeking low so if u spike u get specced u also loose a freeking life. WTF IS THAT. also it sends ur lag to bot wen u kill sum1, but thats stupid bc wen a bullet goes near sum1 it causes a spike

I remember back in '01 when tw didn't lag... i was on 28.8k then with 180 Ping and 0.5% ploss
I'm sure i have a screenie somewhere...

But anyway, i'm now using a 1mb connection and i suffer 200 Ping and between 2 and 4% ploss

Oh and stop crying about lag. From whining I've heard, I must be the laggiest person in TW and surprisingly I'm not lagging out in TWD/base/TWL.

Yea, I played again last night and in my dd, every damn time I would get a kill I would lagout.

BTW I dont have ANY downloads in progress, and I never do on this computer. Plus I only have a router, NO firewall.

Why couldnt they just settle with everyone beeing happy. Not just the FEW lucky ones.

point.. it doesnt matter if ur downloading on another comp that shares the same connection you are using (router), stop that shit too and maybe you wont lagout..

Yeah, it seems that TW is a laggy place to be. It is probably because of the amount of people in TW compared to any other zone. I have adsl in the UK. Generally my lag is 110ms, lately it's been 200+ms ^-^

Oh, and what is this thing where...when you kill, you lag out? It's pretty annoying <_<

yeah, im from Uk aswell with 1024kb adsl, and ive noticed a significant increase in my lag recently. maybe the sys ops are getting behind on the tw server funds? :fear:

Well guys, 99.9% of lag problems have nothing to do with the server. Most of the time it's a problem on the player's computer/connection or a connection somewhere between the player and the server.

When you connect to the game server from your home, you actually are going through ~10+ different routers/connections before your data gets to the server or vice-versa.

So yeah, blaiming DoCk> or the server is mostly just being ignorant. If you live outside of the Americas, your packets (data) must be sent overseas, so yeah, the farther away you live from the server, the worse your lag/ping is going to be most of the time.
