Ah, the infamous 'it's only a game to me' logic. What is your ?usage, if it is over a few hundred hours than it is more than a game to you. And even if it isn't, your logic still doesn't work since many, many people pour a lot of time and effort into this game to make it enjoyable for others.

There is an application going around the community right now called Gashi. It is supposedly going to allow you to cheat but what it actually does is steal your profile.dat and send it to a webserver. Please note that profile.dat does not contain your passwords, but there is no conclusive evidence at this point that it does not also steal your registry keys which contain passwords.

Thanks to swift actions on the part of various council members, including SVS, Mine GO BOOM, and kewlair, this issue has been brought to light before widespread damage could occur. Many players in many zones have been left ?messages and other things telling them to go download the application. As of this message, the website and application are no longer available.

As a precaution, users should use the ?password command to change your personal passwords. Further, please note that use of this application can be considered cheating and will result in a network-wide ban. Please contact your zone staff with specific questions.

YA, i know all that, i have even felt the ban first hand.

But, the program, gashi, does work, where you replace the map you are flying in, with a custom map of your choice. It forces the client to load that map. if you dont belive me about it working, then why would ssc netban people for using it?

This isn't the real world or some Starwars story line here, this is a 2D spaceship game from the 90's. There is no reason people should be forced to put up with such bullshit from a bunch of douchebags who learned how to use google two days ago.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't one of the biggest reasons for creating Continuum as opposed to being stuck with just Subspace was so that new cheats could be stopped as they came out? Well when was the last time we had a forced update? Long over due.

In fact the game has some flaws when it comes to security... the same tolls that let u customize the game are the starting point for someone to build cheats to the game... the thing is there is no 100% safe game and playing against cheaters is frustating and is probably one of the biggest causes of abandoning in some games... luckly continuum is not crawling with cheaters "as oposed to other games" but if measures are not taken maybe it might start to become more common to get a cheater in a game... perhaps increasing the security and also become more watchfull for potential cheaters as well as getting strongher measures against them would reduce significantly the number of cheaters.

I'm sorry, but I have yet crossed a duelest who I seriously thought hacked in this game. People need to stop crying and start playing, honestly.

Consider yourself lucky, believe me I wish I could just play and assume nothing is wrong but when I have people admiting and even demonstrating different methods of hacking/cheating I find it rather hard. Not only that but the amount of people who have messaged me telling me about different programs they have found or others have told them about is amazing. Not everyone is just making this up, especialy the ones who are willing to demonstrate it.
