Being a member of Vulch from the day Elusive dissolved in December of 2000 until the end of 2001 I can assure you I was there. I'm not going to go into it in detail as it was a long time ago, but many people had a bad view of CoT because of his methods which I agree were sometimes draconian. But if you actually knew the guy personally you would realize that what he did was based on pretty solid ideals and he definately knew what he was doing when he was running a squad and when he was dean.
Actually it's somewhat ironic that this current message board has pretty much the same policies that CoT had on his own TW message board (which were heavily criticized back then), but since the obvious target of CoT is gone (and replaced by a faceless 'forum staff'), the troublemakers don't have a target to latch upon. Anyway this was years ago so I won't discuss it further :P
I have to disagree with that. All in all I feel i've been a pretty stand in line and not push the limits kind of guy, I was only banned once, and it was on CoTs boards. The simpel fact of the matter is that at the end that message board was everything to him, he ran it like it was his and not the communities, which is why it ended up going down the tubes. Does nobody else remember all the anti-religious nobody gets free speech crap he through out there? How abotu the Daoc forum poping up because suddenly we were for everygame, not just ss (but not everygame, just daoc) I got banned because I insulted him, that was it. He ran the board with nothing but malice for anything that didn't fit perfectly into his little regime, and it alienated basically everyone, including TK. We all remember that Vulch/Ravener crap.
The only TWOTIME TWLJ All-Star and TWLB All-Star who never played a game.

Perhaps you're right... the end was not so pretty no matter how you look at it. He was perfectly fine at least before 2002 started though and was a good leader while he was doing it.
There was a lot of playah hatin near the end of CoTs time in TW. People fighting like little girls (no offence to the little girls out there, you know I love ya, though not in a romantic way.....). Lots of immaturity. Nobody can talk about that time without a little egg on their face. Is you feelin me, brotha?
Spider Formerly EEK! A Spider! Former TW Moderator, still an all around nice guy

We can still count on Win95 to post a bragging message on the anniversary of the forum change though. It's been a couple of years now and he still does it as if it means anything anymore.
Great leaders i agree with those who said epi, KJW and the like but about CoT. To me he was the ideal leader for a squad of younger guys that just wanted to play the game. I'm sure if Vulch hadn't gone to leagues it would maybe still be around other than as Tk's squadname It was his unwavering rules and morals that made youngs guys like myself, and germboy (love that guy) quit Vulch because we didn't like the ideas at which it was run. He was the rock of the squad, anyone who was on that squad will tell you them same thing. I remember how he rounded up some of the best players to ever play the game Crome, Epi, blood, DoA, and a few others and mixed them up with a bunch of no name kids like me, spider, troll king (who was always known in pub), germboy, yungsta and a few others just to play and have a good time. It wasn't until we decided to go to leagues that the squad went downhill and now i look back i kind of regret pushing the issue.
I just wish CoT himself was here to put his 2 cents in, but i'm pretty sure he doesn't care what we say about him. And that's what made him a good leader.
I remember asking him about why he left staff, and he wouldn't tell me, but in retrospect i don't really care what happened because in my mind and knowing him personally he was/is a good man.

I did kind of think Win95 was cool. Maybe it was just because he was on LAME though.
L!
BTW: I guess CoT was a good leader. He hasn't been around in years and his former posee still crawls out of the wood work to say he was cool. Haha.
