More than likely, you got disconnected for dying too much because people decided to shoot you. Next time you go AFK, try hitting the Esc and S keys. That'll put you in "Spectator" mode, where you will remain in the game without being able to die, as you have no ship to be in.

And yes it doesn't matter what zone you're in, sitting in safe beyond the authorised time limit will disconnect you. In TW, in Chaos, in DZA ... same everywhere.
