I tried it in high school sometime during the 90's, dunno what year though. All I remember is you went to subspacehq.net or .com? and downloaded the game and it was called Subspace. Played it for a few weeks, but then we all started playing Quake so I forgot all about the game until as of late 2002. Anyone got any info during what year it could of been?Last edited by netbanned; 07-09-2006, 09:04 AM.

When did the game go commercial? Anyway, that's when I stopped, played for a while in beta test (early 97 maybe?). Wasn't much of a player then, played alpha zone and philosophy zone with a total usage of something like 200 totally.
Found the game again in 2000 and been playing regularly since that.5: Da1andonly> !ban epinephrine

Ah, the past...
Total Usage: 4007 hours 28 minutes
First played: 6-6-1998 23:10:33
UserId:6012
Like Epi said, the billing server reset around August of 98, screwing up all those UserIDs. iNet turned into SSCU. There was another TW on a server called SSNet, which I actually liked better. However, their server went down eventually, forcing me to play on iNet.
Before that, I played in some Paintball zone from 96 to 97, until it disappeared. It was the only zone I knew of that had 1 shot kills, which I liked the most.
I first started playing in October of 1995. This was about a month after they renamed it from Sniper. When I first started playing, they had just released the 5th ship, the Terrier. It was exciting at the time. I mainly played in VIE Alpha zone since I lost my ass on VIE Chaos. I'm only decent when it is one shot kills. Meh, oh well. Though, VIE Alpha made it so that if you went over 5,000 points or something, you couldn't log into that zone with the same name because it was meant as a newbie zone... Thus, you had to keep creating new nicknames. Heh.
As for the SSCU TW, I originally joined a squad named SpiceForce5 (don't ask). It was the rival of Defcon5, which basically made up all the staff members of the server at the time. There were other squads, but they all paled in comparison to these two. There was no elim, no TWL, TWD, events, or anything. All you could do is play in the Public arenas. Eventually, I got bored of SF5 and made DarKnights, which dominited the pubs from Oct 98 until about March of 99. Then I joined Paladen in early June and stayed with them for about 3 years, if I recall. Onix was just after that and just in time for the 3rd season of TWL. Well, it wasn't called TWL back then, but it was the same concept. We got to the finals only to lose our asses, but thats okay.
I didn't start playing elim until March 2, 2002. I know the exact date because that was the last time I gave my all in the pubs. If you look at the score history, you'll see quite the record.

I assume you meant TWT when talking about Onix. I think Onix was later than that, because in 1999 G--K was running EliteWingz wasn't he? Wasn't Onix in the 2000s? It was around for at least two TWL seasons and I'm guessing TWTThe only TWO TIME TWLJ All-Star and TWLB All-Star who never played a game.

I started playing somewhere right after (1 week?) Sniper was called Subspace.
Played with some names, then changed it into n. S.E.A.LS. where i played on.. until 1998 or something. Then changed it into SEAL.
I am the natural ALPHA newbie. Back then I wouldn't enter a zone (alpha) when there where less than 120 people in East (or West). With players as Bargeld, Eris, Gemnu, etc. And squads as SeaQueen, X-Calibur, etc. Then later on the squad killa-187 came and the lame T20 period began (sort of basing now in tw).

The terrier time, hah. Yeah. And what about the "wasp" time? And the "shield" for the player with the highest points.
Going for *-0 scores was always fun, trying to get over 800 bounty, etc. Getting 40-0 would get the attention and the pro zone players would come in the zone and try and kill the bounty.
Going spider and just green was fun too. Having a 0-0 record, yet a 2000 bounty.
... ...The times.... ... it was fun.
