Since the 75days thread got closed, I ask my question here:

I don't know who's telling you this 75 day stuff but all cheating (Not DSing, racism or tking of course) is a one year SSC network ban, no exceptions.

How come Vys only got 3 months from cheating and it didn't even get extended from evading?

Ask Rudy, all I know is first offense cheating is 1 year without exception. This information is not provided to third parties anyways and not allowed on the forum.

because the bigger the name you are, and the more you are friends with guys like P_L, the faster your unbanned, simple as that. Honestly though I dont even care anymore, let the cheaters do w/e they want, when this game dies in a year or so and everyone wants someone to blame, blame the upper staff that are corrupt as hell. Find their address and send them hate mail! yeah! loool NOOOT.

no but honestly, if your a total nobody and you cheat, your getting banned for a year and no one will think twice, or care. If your a somewhat well known name, you might get looked over, considering that a player that has played like 7 years diserves to be looked over.

vys i can see how you might look it over, lethargy I have no clue. Seems every time there is a clear cut case that gets attention, staff choke under pressure and remove the ban. Grow some nuts people. I'm holding mine for you right now! cheers

i was recently banned so i can be a bit biased here

Shouldnt they take in account: How long the cheat was used, in what arena, were they honest if they used a cheat, was it their first ban?


I just got a 75day ban, i used a speed cheat in #mythrandir just fucking around for 30 seconds, first ban ever if i can remember correctly and i told PL straight up when he asked if i used it.. td. also was banned for using gashi in the arena lol
but 75 days isnt 1 year so i guess i got off easy

man that bothers me, my squaddie Voth did the same thing in #afk and got a year w\o PL or any staff for that matter ever even asking him the situation. he was simply checking it out with hopes of better being able to recognize it being used against him. it should AT LEAST be dropped to 75 days like urs...

Yeah well mine got raised to 1 year to TW, then yesterday 1 year netban

EDIT: The crappy part about my ban was the person who used CE & Gashi didnt get banned and they also had a server error on them.... lol

man this is gettin rediculous, ive never even been warned (except by lunar crescent but that doesnt count as she warns after 2 macros). but i know voth, and probobly you too hydride are NOT cheaters. the fact that cheats exist promotes curiousity. if theyre used ALL ALONE in a PRIV arena, especailly the 1st time you try it, shouldnt be a year by any means. 30 days is a good lil slap in the face and plenty to deter ppl from further exploring them.

a 1 year netban just makes people quit, which i prolly will end up doing =P
but it also keeps cheaters out, though they end up evading :/

i look at it this way now: Cheaters have to find out how to use a cheat right? so they see how it goes in a priv arena b4 they use it in public

though they should take into fact:

Did that person say they used a cheat when asked
Have they been banned before

If you actually think staffers are leting some older players off the hook why do you think these players should get special consideration in the first place? Leth wasn't a clear cut case, I'm not going to go into it because of forum rules but there's more to things that happen in this zone then you can see exalt, yeah it sucks but that's how things go here.

WuTang, Hydride already admitted to cheating and he's gone now. There was a mix up in the length due to miscommuncation.

Now on topic: I believe permanent bans for first offenders encourages people to evade. If we had a better method of banning and cheating was less common then I would say yes to it.

Yes cheating is cheating, it should be 1 year regardless.. but if its a first time and its in private arena, shouldnt first ban be just 1 year from tw, then if caught again 1 year netban?

Then again those idiots who cheated screwed me and others over because nothing like this happened at the same extreme years ago

i couldnt agree more. after all a ban is pointless if it doesnt stop anyone.

hey i just had a thought...dont network cards (ethernet cards) all have an individual serial ID? if their was a way to detect this it would be awesome. then a ban would actually be a ban...or ppl would at least have to buy a new card to evade it. BTW if this is a dumb ass idea dont judge me im stoned.

They do it's called a Mac/level 3 ID and banning uses this value.
