Actually, you could hack a 'shrink green' in, but with some restrictions. Basically, you take a green for an addon that no ship uses (e.g., thor), and designate that the 'shrink green'. You also need 2 ship slots for each ship to be shrunk, so you'd probably axe the lev and choose 1 ship that gets to be shrunk. Have a bot that changes shipX into ship 4, whose settings and graphic are now changed to be a shrunken version of shipX, whenever ship 4 picks up a shrink green. If the player dies in ship 4, the bot reverts them to shipX
I think that would make for some awesome base games if ters could pickup shrink greens, and the shrink greens were sufficiently rare. Long crams would eventually have to die because the attacking ter will eventually get shrunk. In fact, you might consider doing away with the green entirely and just shrinking the attacking ter if the flag has been held for > 3 mins or so.
Using unused greens to signal the bot in an unusual way can accomplish other things as well. You could, for instance, 'prize' a team extra shipchanges/subs if they pickup a certain type of otherwise-unused green (not that it would be a good idea, but just an example).

Hmm, also only terrs could get them? Only one ship would be able to be shrunken since the shrunken graphic can only hold one slot. Unless you make an event map with this concept, where there are only the few basing ships (spid,terr,shark,jav) then the other 4 ships can be made into the shrunken versions of those ships.

I'm not sure if it would necessarily add anything more to a game for all ships to be shrinkable. The largest impact would probably be with ters, javs, and sharks, in that order.
Another way it could also be done is with each team having a set number of shipshrinks per game, similar to how you have a limited number of shipchanges per game. This would make shrinking less of a randomizer and have it add another tactical dimension to basing. If the special ships are shrinkable it will make them a truly viable alternative to a 5 spider line without necessarily being overpowered, as you only get a few shipshrinks per game, and shrinking a special ship means less shrinks for your ter to break crams. If shrinking until death is still too powerful, shrinks can be time-limited.

I like the idea of having a mini shark because it would open the game up more and increase rate of sharks, but terr is going too far... Maybe put a limit on number of sharks per team if they minimize it.
