In my experience cable is good for downloads and dsl is good for games. Dsl will (depending on ure provider) usally give you a better and a steady ping with games. Just dont choose the cheapest provider.
With dsl you have your own private connection
Cable you have to share, but if youre lucky you dont have much downloaders in the neighborhood and get a really fast connection (for downloads).
Ow, and download speeds dont have anything to do with your ping. Online games only need like 6kb's up and download.
