Honour does not exist anymore and although its more of a personal thing it is still nice to see squads and players admit defeat. Thats not the case anymore, now all you get is an excuse and some trash talking. The courage to trash talk a squad you've lost multiple times to in TWL??? Wow. Seriously. Honor? What are you complaining about? The past and how right now isn't as nice as it was when you were younger? The forum isn't chock full of only active TW'ers and only deal with TW-related topics? Alot of people that play don't care about getting into "top" squads? Boo hoo hoo, oh no TW is different from how I remember it, wah wah wah. Things change, people change, the world is changing all the time. i have to admit.. the TWL just passed... not a lot of older players cared about it...

prob because the people who are considered as vet now are all in their 20s.. which means they dont got much time for this game anymore..

and everything changes.. the new generation takes over the old... just let it be... nothing u can do about it..

and i would like to say something for the people who been trashing staff all this time.. they are working for FREE... using their OWN time.. like nickname said.. if u had a choice between two jobs.. 1. u get paid 2. u dont get paid.. which one would u put more time on?

The majority here is quoting me on trash talking, the one thing which is not one of my arguments. Read my first post and look at the begining of the paragraph where I discuss honour. In it, I wrote that its more of a personal thing. Trash talking has nothing to do with what I am trying to put forth here. Also where do you get this "whining about the older days" from? If anything I am calling for a change here with the arguments I am puting forth.

So lets do this. For the last and final time, to make it clear for everyone reading this thread:

1. Trench Wars Forum has detached itself from the game. With all the sub-categories such as Useless Crap, Links for the young at heart, Musical differences and Sport filling up it is going to (if not already) have twice as many posts as the categories revolving TW. Whether you like it or not there is more interest in this crap than the categories that have to do with Trench Wars. Once again, this forum is a whole new place a whole new world. It does not feel like its part of TW.

2. Multiple nicknames being a problem outside of twd. No restrictions no nothing, anyone can just go on and create 50 new nicknames and take on 50 new personalities. Rookies in this game are the biggest victims of this because there just isnt that "WOW" factor that guides them and shows them how to get better, become competitive and participate in TWL.

3. Low interest in this TWL season. New squads are emerging only to dissolve a month from that very same day. On top of that the older TWL participating squads arent getting anything in return for staying active and alive. (aside from another TWL entry but thats only if they make the playoffs)


As far as TWL staff goes. I have nothing against Nethila. I know that he is doing the best he can, I've played on the same squad as him. He couldnt even reply to the messages I left him thats how busy he was ^-^ . All jokes aside he is doing his best.

PS. I know I am eating my own words here by replying to this thread. In any case I cannot be anymore clearer than I am after this post.

1. So what? Seriously, the people who want to talk about TW-related stuff will go to the correct forums, if you don't want to "see the rest of what's become of the TW forums", then simply don't go to non-TW related portions. Just because you think it is detracting from TW, doesn't mean it is. For some people it probably keeps them coming to the TW community more, because there is a life beyond this game and people can talk about it here.

2. Multiple nicknames are just something you're going to have to deal with. Anyone who really cares about their "internet persona" and about being recognized won't constantly switch names. Trying to limit people to one or two screen names just so it's easier for you to keep track of the douches is not going to happen- realize that there are people who log on with the intent to annoy, if it's not through nicknames it will be through some other way.

3. It's been said before and it will be said again after I post this- Subspace is losing players and people's interest. It's not just TW, zones all over are shrinking or even dying (RIP SWR Realm). That means less people participating in or even getting excited about, TWL. Older squads shouldn't recieve any type of reward for joing in TWL, they should keep coming back because they like to play the game, not for any reward. And what type of rewards could you hand out in a free, 2d spaceship game? Some praise on the TW front page? With as much shit as staff gets from the playerbase as it is, I definately wouldn't want to front any actual money or "IRL" item prizes, way to many are ungrateful about the hard work staff does to keep this zone running.

I don't know about you, but I have interests other than this game. I am sad to say this game is not my main interest, either. And to express my feelings on my other interests, breathing, jumping jacks, and Italian folklore to name a few, I feel the subforums a necessity. Then again the music and sports aren't, but that was just to seperate it from the already fairly busy general subforum. I don't know about you, but as an active member of the forums (I don't care if you don't like my posts, get the fuck over it) I can say I feel like a part of TW. I can also say that I see a clear correlation between the forums and the zone. There is always going to be a connection between the two, we're here because we like(d) to fight spaceships. If some have hung up the warbird gloves then so be it, I'm still happy they're around and at least interested in the community.

2. Quit crying about how much TW sucks now. Maybe you can do like a TW survivor thing, and the weakest people get banned from TW. Then the winners can reproduce and have super-babies who are intelligent AND good at TW, thus repopulating TW. Incest: A game the whole family can enjoy!

TW forums' different categories and topics is a sign of a healthy community, not a sign of the decline of the zone. I would instead argue that this forum's wide range of thread topics have made this community stronger than if it were limited only to TW related threads.

Fun fact: of the 24 threads that Tyson has created since the name was registered in 2004, only 9 have been TW or SS related, and only 2 out of the 7 threads created in 2006 are TW related, including this one. Of the 24, 10 have been soccer-related, and 4 have been video game related (including one thread about the game FIFA 2004 which I included in both categories.) Now, I'm not trying to make Tyson to look like a hypocrit here; he's saying that's how these forums are right now, and he didn't say anything about being any different himself. Instead, I have a question to ask him: do you talk about other video games or soccer on the various in-game chats? If you do then these forums are only an extension of what you talk about in-game, and thus a reflection of the game itself and not really that "detached" from the game.
